Sometimes simpler is better. A couple of years ago I went on an excursion to a Mayan pyramid. I had bought the cheapest GoPro I could find, and had it strapped on my chest so I could use both hands climbing, and also so I wouldn’t have to worry about banging my SLR. When I came down there was a small group of old (my age) guys standing on the ground, all with SLRs way too expensive for me. They were all fascinated in my hands free camera. I wish I’d had the presence of mind to trade my cheapo rig for one of theirs!
Honestly, it was cold, drizzling, and overcast. I just selected sports program mode to get the high shutter speed.
I suggest stopping at the “Nature Center” in the Park, to find out where all the waterfalls are.
Maybe you’d be interested in Cummins Falls, a little further west and not far off of I-40. It’s actually three falls, and I think the last one downstream is the prettiest waterfall I’ve ever seen.
It is a neat place. There are several waterfalls in Fall Creek Falls state park; this is the largest one.
The unusually heavy rains got Tennessee’s Fall Creek Falls roaring, and made for tapestries of water at the last of the 256 feet fall.

There are RAV models that can backup to both SD card and usb stick. I put up a picture of one of these.
The Passport Wireless Pro can do backups without having a tablet or phone; however I don’t recommend that approach because when using it on a tour of the Oregon coast, I was never sure if the files copied without using the phone or tablet. Also the passport wireless pro is pretty bulky, and is subject to file corruption if the battery runs down.
I’ve used different variants of the RAV with good results, but it needs a phone or tablet to control it.
I imagine you’re spending a pretty penny going to Egypt, so why not spend a bit more and buy or rent a camera that has its own built in WiFi and get a phone that has plenty of memory? My canon 77D does that and I like that solution best.
On the other hand, it’s very handy to have the ability to recharge your phone via a portable device such as this little RAV RP-WD01, that can make a backup to an SD card or usb stick. This little gadget fits nicely into my shirt pocket.
I find redundancy contributes to peace of mind about irreplaceable photos. However, I didn’t realize I was quite this parenoid!
Is it a solid state drive? If so make sure you fully charge the battery. Use Norton or windows to “repair” the “disk”. I have a WD SSD and you have to keep it charged. It’s no good for long term storage.
Thanks to everyone who liked my captures. I sort of felt I’d crossed some kind of a threshold, with nice comments from members of such an august body of experts.
I wear an oversized rain jacket, and hanging the camera around my neck simply tuck it inside til the rain or blowing sand subsides.
I love my 77D. I’ve been using it for almost 2 years and I have nothing negative to say about it.
Yesterday the wife and I went on a new segment of a scenic road paralleling the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. “Patchy fog” had been predicted, but what we saw looked more like an inland sea, complete with surf.
