My first Digital Camera was a Kodak 120. Was 1 mega pixel and Came with two 4mb flash cards. Still have it and it still works. Don't remember what i paid but wasn't cheap. Got it to take photos that i didn't want to send to the photo processor (drugstore or Fotomat). This was back in my wild younger days.

These are good! When I shoot a game I try to get the players faces, am opposing player so the viewer can tell it is a game and the ball. Your photos have all three elements and sharp focus.

We have the Meural. Love it, we display our photos from out travels. It does have a few quirks and the manual is typical, needs more details. Holds 4 gb but can also add an SD card. Also recently got a Samsung Frame TV which we use to display artwork. The Frame only holds 500mb so not too many photos can be displayed.

The unedited photos in raw format are too large to post as over 20 mbs. Nikon raw format.

I am Alan. I live in Livermore, California where I retired too 7 years ago. I shoot sports at a local community college, landscapes particularly when we travel and love to do portraits. Don't do as many portraits as I would like as I have problems finding models who are willing to pose for free or low cost. I am a member of a local camera club. I use a Nikon D7200, a cropped frame camera. Anything else you would like to know?

I shoot junior college sports, won California News Publishers Association First Place for sports action photo last year, second place this year and numerous other awards. In my opinion your photos are great! I like the fact you got faces, the ball and opposing players in most of the shots. Basketball is hard as it is a fast game and usually the lighting sucks in the gyms.

I use the pop up flash solely to trigger remote speedlights.

I shoot raw mainly as it gives so much more leadway in post processing, often allowing correction of mistakes when the photo was taken. I have taken photos way way way over exposed but in post processing have been able to get a reasonable image from the raw file. The only time I use jpg is if I need to transfer the files quickly such as posting to social media, etc.

I shoot a lot of junior college basketball from courtside and i find a 70-200mm to be a good lens to shoot. It is a 2.8 as you need a fast lens to get the high shutter speed you need. I also usually set ISO to about 6400. Good exposures on your photos.
I attended a seminar on sports and he stated that typically a good sports photos show the ball and a face. One suggestions either hold the camera straight or straighten post processing so the player is not dribbling down hill. I usually straighten in Lightroom.

I am always amazed at the faces women athletes make and also how much their hair moves particularly in soccer. Good photos BTW. Not only is it tough to get the action but when one team is in dark blue and the other white, hard to get a good exposure. The college I shoot for, a community college, their uniforms are dark red and black. The visiting team is usually in all white.

Looks like you have good settings for this shot. You need a fast shutter speed so you had to raise the ISO. One option but expensive is get a fast lens, I use a 70-200mm 2.8. Another option is to shoot in raw if you are not already and then lighten in post processing. However, the photos will still be grainy, not much you can do about it. Lighting in high school and in my case, junior college, fields is horrible for photos. I sometimes set the aperture and shutter speed using manual mode and the set auto iso.The photos are good BTW.
