Fifty miles from me. It is fun to see what they come up with every year for the decorations. Every year we have to hope for a good crop in the special fields where the different kinds of corn grow.We Dakotans are proud of our Corn Palace.

Don't forget: Early morning and late afternoon provide the best light for photos and is always the most likely time for wildlife to be sighted. I have been to Yellowstone and the Tetons multiple times and have never been disappointed. My preference is the Tetons. I could go there every year.

I wondered if it was Major Lake. It kind of looked like the shoreline in one of the photos. Amazing there would be one on Stockade. Usually there is just an assortment of ducks there. I have some great photos of Canadian Geese and their babies on Major Lake.

Grew up near Hill City. Never saw grebes. It is neat. Hope they stay. Would love to know which little lake.

Thank you, will have to look around next time I am there. Haven't spent much time at Blue Bell. Spend most time in Wildlife Loop area.

While visiting the park we stopped by the outdoor church to say a prayer while we readied to travel again, and well of course I had to shoot a few photo's!

I grew up near Custer State Park and visit regularly. I have not seen this outdoor church. Where is it located?

I cannot stand Macs for this reason. They come out with really nice new models dripping with new technology, faster speed, and new internal drive concepts. I would love to buy one:however, their is absolutely nothing wrong with my 6-year old iMac 27 inch. It just keeps working and gives me no trouble. Thus, I have no justification to buy a new one. I cannot stand the way the iMac keeps working for all these years. I wish it would break! Now, my friend has a PC and every 18 months or so he gets a new one...it is not fare that iMac users have to suffer.
I cannot stand Macs for this reason. They come out... (show quote)

I agree. I have had 5 Macs and only one stopped working. (The second one) I still use three of them and the first of the three I still use is super old. Wish I could remember how old. Two of them are MacBook Pros and the MacBook Air was purchased because it was easier to stick in a camera bag for a trip to Alaska in 2012. It still works as good as new.I find that all of the post processing that I need comes with the included Photos program. I use the rest of the included software for everything I need.

It is better to take the zoom than wish you had it later. I have found on most of my trips a single lens is a disappointment and I need the range of a zoom.

I have gone to the Tamron 18-400. I find that I don't use any of my other lenses very often now. Photos from the lens have won many prizes in contests for me including Best of Show, but I did also win with the Canon 100-400 in years past.

Yes, Crazy Horse is still being carved by Korzak Ziokowski's family. His wife passed away several years ago. Both she and her husband are entombed at the foot of the mountain. If it seems commercialized, keep in mind that no federal funds are being sought or have ever been used to fund the work at Crazy Horse. It is funded by admission and income from the restaurant and gift shops. They have kept it from being a junky tourist attraction and the historical display of Native American history and artifacts is worth seeing. I grew up a few miles from Crazy Horse and I can remember my dad saying that guy was crazy and it would never get done. He would be amazed at the progress the Ziokowski family has made since Korzak's death. After Korzak's death his wife insisted that the head and face be completed first and that has helped the attraction show progress. A project that large can not be completed in a short time.

Believe you think of Silver Dollar City.

When we lived in the area I was in Dogwood Canyon several times a year. If you can bike, I recommend you rent a bike as much of the canypn is flat so walking is also ease. You will find many wonderful places to take pictures. If you take the tram you will most of them.

Here in the fall, you will see leaves on the stream with tout below.

You are right, Silver Dollar City it was. Getting old has it's moments.

There is a venue near Branson which contains a collection of buildings from the area's early history. Can't remember what it is called, but it has a train, flowing stream and many interesting photo opportunities. The name Reed's Spring comes up on some of my photos. There are paved walking trails so one can hike around the area. Some of it may be "touristy", but I found many places to photograph without the "tourist" stuff.

Sorry to see the journey end because it has been wonderful to experience with you and Mutt. Don't know if I will ever be able to experience everywhere you were, but I am a South Dakota native and enjoyed your travels in my state. Wyoming and Montana have always been a wonderful place to visit and the Tetons are probably my favorite of favorites. Hoping Glacier and Jasper will be next for me. Thanks for taking us along and glad you had safe travels.

Absolutely agree. I have used them on all my cameras for years every since I discovered them. Check them out!
