Hi All,
I’m having a problem viewing Raw photos in the photo app on a Mac. This is a new problem as I’ve been using the app since it replaced IPhoto. I took some pictures on my d500 in raw, connected to the app, but none would download. I got a notice that it was an unsuppported format. NEF????? The photos are there as 1) I can see them in the camera and 2), I downloaded them in a separate directory and converted them to a jpeg. I was then able to import them into the app. I wasn’t sure if these somehow got corrupted, so I took some pictures in raw on a P&S Panasonic. Same problem, but I was again able to upload the photos from a JPEG. Is anyone else having this problem? I don’t think it’s the Mac since I tried the same thing on a second Mac with the same results. Was there a download of software that affected the program ? I have been able to downloaded and view Raw photos for years. I appreciate any suggestions the hogs may have. Thanks

I took your advice and looked carefully at both cameras. I liked the reach and weight of the Nikon but in the end, I went with your choice because of the panasonic’s ability to shoot Raw. Tell your husband you won this one!!!!!😁

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I will use my D500 with the 200-500MM lens when I can but in other times , like a quick weekend plane trip I’m going to get the point and shoot

Does anyone have experience with this camera ? I am a Nikon guy and regularly use my D500 with a back up of my D7100. There are times when traveling that I want a pocket camera that is better than a IPhone. Reading the features this seems to be an able camera which has wi-fi . The cost seems to be about $400. Would you recommend this or a similar model. I appreciate all your help.
