I own a D7500 and LOVE it. I use it for college sports and it is a fantastic camera. On that note, there is a D7100 listed in todays classified for sale for $275 with only 6600 actuations. That would be a steal if you want my opinion. Since that is what you have had you wouldn’t have to learn anything new. Just charge the battery and go have fun.

Is it okay to use 1:1 image area size on a portrait using a Nikon mirrorless camera? I just received a new Z30 and was not sure since I have never had that option on any of my previous cameras. Thanks in advance for all responses.

You said the D5500 was to slow. Do you mean focusing or fps? The D850 shoots 7 fps and the D500 shoots 10 fps. So if you meant fps, the D850 may be to slow also.

Thank You Ricardo00, that is what I wanted to know. I am only using the photos for my InstaGram account so they don’t need to be high rez. I just need to get in closer from the bleachers or sidelines when I am shooting. This will save me a lot of money. No need to buy that 150-600mm lens now.

When I put my D7500 into 1.3 crop, am I multiplying my 300mm lens by 1.5 and then 1.3? I am confused on what the 1.3 really does in camera.

Thanks for all the info. I knew someone here would have the knowledge of how these cameras and electronics work better then me. Sounds like it isn’t possible to get the speed that I want without going to the Z6, which I don’t really want, because of the price and the more expensive memory card that it takes. The Z5 uses two SD cards and the price is in my budget. Again, THANKS for all your input.

I don’t expect anyone here to know what they are going to do. I guess I didn’t get my question correct. What I want to know is, if it is possible that a firmware upgrade could change the FPS. Because if it is I might take a chance and buy the camera in hopes that they would do a firmware change in the future.
