I’m looking for alternatives to Bay Photo. I had a project that had a time deadline. Based on their estimate there should not have been a problem. Paid for expedited shipped. They missed-badly. I did the chat function and I was told they would try and get it out faster- didn’t happen. Because of their casual attitude about delivery estimates I had to comp the job. I like their product but until they can deliver what they promise, I will pass.

I am happy to add an amendment. As soon as customer service was made aware of the issue, they made it right.

I've started taking pictures of murals in and around Fresno California. I am very much in the learning stage. My thoughts at this stage are: Sunday morning is great time for downtown, the streets are empty. You have to accept the imperfections of the environment, trees, wires, and parked cars. I will not use photo shop to remove them. Perspective is important. I try to include context to give an impression of the size of the mural.

Any thoughts or comments are welcome. All shots are taken with a Nikon 5600

This web site claims that you can modify your Nikon to improve performance and expand capabilities. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it impact your Nikon warranty? I am always leery about modifying the factory presets.

Below is the introduction to the web site.

I attended a seminar given by a professional action photographer. His take was that the liberal use of the delete key was the first and a very important step of post processing. He shot surfers, motocross and skateboarders. During the shooting day he would shoot hundreds if not thousands of images. The delete key preserves that one asset that none of us have enough of and none of use can buy more of, time. Assume that the shoot results in 1,200 images. If you invest 1 minute post processing in each image you have spent 20 hours on them. Pull them up into Light Room and Photoshop and invest 5 minutes trying to correct out of focus and other issues you are up to 100 hours and you still don't have that exceptional image you are after. You don't have to delete them but rate them as a one and write them off to another drive. After deleting 95%, focus of the few images that are worth the effort and use the time to learn and shoot the next batch.

I just got my new Nikon that allows me to shoot RAW. The plan at the next opportunity is to bracket around a -1 exposure and see what that gives me. I would rather get it right at the camera and rely on post processing as little as possible.

I pulled the trigger on the Nikon D5600. I know i could have spent a lot more on the camera but this leaves me room in the budget for better glass. The next few months will be spent exploring the capabilities of this camera. I do know that I have reservations about the snap bridge capabilities. First it seems to burn a lot of battery power. The first day I was playing with the camera, battery was dead in no time at all. I really don't need to see all my experiments on my I phone. The view screen on the camera is as good as the phone. I have no problem taking my memory card from the camera and plugging it into the laptop and choosing what to dowload.

I like your pictures. One question for you and the group. Looking at the pictures of the Egret and the White Ibis, on both birds the brightest of the white feathers are burnt out past the point where you can recover any details. I have had exactly the same problem. Is it an exposure problem, white balance or other setting error? Would shooting in RAW and adjusting in post processing help?

There was a period I was getting e mails about my bank accounts. The problem was that these accounts were for banks I never heard of much less had accounts at. Not a problem until they happened to mention a bank I did have an account at, damn if i didn't start to click the link. Fortunately good sense took over before I committed.

I think my question could have been better stated. Assuming comparable lenses, good composition, properly set ISO and all the other factors that go into a photo, how important is that 10-20% increase in megapixels?
