Your right about the Navy Corpsman. I read a story about him. After the war he went home to a mid western state. He became a under taker. Raised his family and never spoke a word of his time during the war. It wasn't until he passed away that his family found out what he did and the medals he was awarded. His oldest son got special permission to visit Iwo jima with his mom and family. By the way I was one day old at the time. Salty sarge Ret USAF

Personally I think that's just a little WEIRD to say the least, and just plain sick.

I must say at 74 years old, this is a first for me. I can honestly say I have "NEVER, EVER" heard of some one photographing a funeral or the deceased for any reason.

I am half way through "The Fundamentals of Photography" from National Geographic. In my humble opinion I think Joel Sartore presents the material in such a way that he inspires you to get out and take pictures. He goes over all aspects of the camera in detail and you can always watch the videos again and again. Best money I've spent on a photo course.

The eye doc at the VA hospital recommended them for me. I absolutely love them. Without them I could not drive at night especially on roads with out street lights.

I remember that very well . I was stationed at Dover AFB De. at the time. That's where all the bodies were brought back too for identification and to prepare the bodies for the trip back for burial. I personally went to every service we had for them at Dover. Just about everybody including most of the children on base helped in some way to help the families who came up to bring there fallen loved ones home. That was just so sad, and so close to Christmas.

When I served with him he was a Lt. Col. Gerald Young. He earned the MOH as a helicopter pilot with the Air Rescue Squadron. I met him while stationed at Andrews AFB Md. We were assigned to the 1st Helicopter Sq. He flew them I fixed them. He has since passed away.

Thank you for posting this. I just wonder why it took so long. I spent 23 years in the USAF and had the honor and privilege of serving with a Metal of Honor recipient from the Viet Nam war.

Great shots. I worked on the C-5 for ten years, at Dover AFB. Never had a chance to ride one

We got a "call blocker" from QVC it works great. When you get a call from some one any one that you want to block you perss the red button and its blocked. You can always unblock a number any time. Very easy to hook up.
