Use Pre wb. If I was shooting it PRE is the way I'd go. But if using flash just use auto. Either way shoot RAW and clean the wb in edit.
Happy for you. I have had the 850 since mid-September. I am not s giddy as most, but it's a sweet camera.
I owned the lens for a while, no complaints. I used it on D600 and D800. I would recommend it from my experience with it.
Firmly agree with Adobe Photo Shop Elements. As you will likely move to yet another Adobe, but will be familiar with the screen layout.
You did not mention what camera, but most have a usable free software to open their RAW files and includes slight edit tools. Example is I use Nikon NXi to browse my images and cull the junk, then open them from NXi directly into Photoshop. But NXi will allow color balance, exposure adjustment and a bit more too.
Nice, but not realistic (in my humble opinion).
Nikon 16-35 f/4 FX VR, Nikon 24-120 f/4G ED VR FX - I own and use both, and have for years. Both are as good on the D850 as on the other bodies I own, great. It's expected when Nikon introduces a D850 kit the 24-120 will be the lens of choice. Fact is it's pictured on the Nikon web. Can't comment on the Tammy.
EDIT -
Holy heck, I realize now this is a very old thread. I'm back here after leaving for a couple years, I'll pay attention.
Congrats! Great photography
Sure, grab it! Silver EFex Pro2 is the way to make your B-W photos, simple to use but extensive in what it does. I seldom use the others.
My opinion, fast shutter speed, always. That rule is not to be obeyed.
Nice catch here, sharp photo. But way to dark, editing needs opened till the sky looks realistic so you will be able to see the eagles eye including the pupil. Try my suggestion, you will agree.
