does the grip make it any less "pocket-able"? I don't think so, from the photos, but wondering your opinion. Thanks again for your "positive" suggestions.

No. It makes it a smidgey wider but it still is very pocketable. Had a little neoprene case for it and it fit just fine after attaching the grip.

I'd give it a try before you get rid of the camera. I use a D500 normally and use this camera when I'm not wanting to carry a big one. Took it on a trip to the Amazon and it took great photos. I had some concern about the grip not sticking in the long run - but its doing great.

I had the same problem when I got mine. I got this custom grip attachment and it made all the difference in the world.

Another vote for the Xume magnetic system. At first, wrote it off as gimmicky. But finally gave in and ordered for all my filters. Really makes a world of difference ease of use.

Hi Dione:

I have both books and believe you would derive benefit from both. If you're seeking to thoroughly learn your 7200 and get the best photos from it, it will help to understand the nuances of Nikon's focusing system. Steve starts with the basics in both books and I find them very understandable and they have helped me a lot with getting the most out of my D500. If you are going to have weeks at a time with no internet - this might be a great time to read these books and put the information to good use. Definitely not a waste of time or money.

I agree. My regular camera is a Nikon D500. However, I recently spent 2 weeks on a medical mission traveling into the Amazon jungle on a river boat. I wanted something smaller, less obtrusive and less expensive than my D500. I travelled with the Lumix ZS100. My requirements were a reasonable zoom and ability to shoot RAW. The Lumix performed wonderfully. I would suggest purchasing it well ahead of any important trips or shoots, as you will need time to learn the menu system and how to make adjustments. Once you figure this out and get things set up for your personal shooting style, it's a great little camera.
