Hi again ALL, sorry for my absence for a while but suffered some damage to my neck and am still in need of further treatment for that. I have been on the lookout for a couple of primes for the OM-2n but the ones I am interested in are clearly very rare in the condition they need to be, even those I have seen suffer from the usual issues that deem them unfit for purpose, anything approaching reasonable are too expensive to take a chance on. I have however managed to secure a variety of 'useful' additions which will give me the enjoyment of using this lovely little SLR. I have replaced all the light seals, which was no easy task as they were the 'originals' and had to be removed literally 'bit by bit'. I have now a mint boxed unused Zuiko 50mm F1.8, a very close to mint boxed Zuiko 75-150mm constant F4, a mint Miranda 28-70 F3.8 macro, an early Vivitar 2x converter (7 element) boxed and near mint, a excellent flash grip 2, 2x Olympus T32 Flashes, both in excellent condition and the cable and off camera adapter shoe 4, a selection of filters, mainly Hoya, Astron etc. Certainly enough to keep me happy for the time being. I would now like to obtain an Olympus adapter to allow use with my telescope system, it would be nice to see what it could do with both b/w and colour and to compare those results with my two astro cams. I thank ALL of you for your stellar advice and assistance and I will be on here regularly in future sharing my experiences and pictures.

While the 50mm is certainly a good lens, I am more comfortable with a 80mm+, can't get close enough into the subject in my current physical state. I always found the 80mm FD good on the Canon Equipment and just needed some guidance regards the Oly lenses. my present feeling is that the Zuiko's I have used up to now are a much better lens than the FD's, I realize that I have only used a borrowed 28 and my own 50 but comparing them against 'equivalent' FD's they appear much crisper and the colour looks more realistic, b/w also seems to be sharper and clearer even in the shaded areas, my opinion I know, but having been a Canon fan for over 40 years and used a great many FD and EF lenses I now wish that I had tried the OM years ago. Hi everyone, after a long period of absence from photography I have once again decided to take it up once again. My first experience with a 'meaningful' camera was in the late 50's with my father's old Retina bellows 35mm and then an Asahi Pentax with Takumar lens. I also had access to a friends Zenit. When I joined the RAF I joined the photography club to gain access to their Dark Rooms. I bought my own first camera thereafter, A Canon LTBn followed shortly after by an FTBn and expanding my lens collection as time went by. I bought other cameras, ALL Canon, AE1program, A1, T90 and loved them all. Then, trying to bring home a Nimrod with no nose wheel on a totally iced up runway in 1974 I broke my back in three places and fractured it in two. Career over and hospitalized. My then wife decided to sell my equipment for the princely sum of £50 the lot. I needed further surgery over an 8 year period and I never found the resources to invest in a decent camera for many years. I chanced Upon A Minolta 7000 with a dozen lenses and Flash for £20 in a Charity shop and used that for a couple of years and by that time the Canon EOS series was well established and I bought an EOS 5 which I soon upgraded to an EOS 3 giving the 5 to a friend. I then part exchanged the 3 for my first Digital which, yet again, was a Canon, the Rebel 300D (or Kiss). What a disappointment, all I wish to say is that Canon must have completely forgotten what ISO means during the design phase. I ditched it ASAP and went back to film. After I required more work on my spine, which was degenerative and unstable, spreading upwards to include my neck I decided that a compact digital was probably the best way to go, by now they were getting reasonably competent. I tried out a few models, A 16 megapixel Panasonic DSC, which my partner Jean loves and won't part with. An Olympus bridge (can't recall the model) it was returned the same day It was bought because it drained the batteries in less than 20 minutes. I swapped it out for a slightly more expensive Nikon CoolPix L820 which did not excite me so I traded it in for a Sony Alpha a58 because I had a number of Good Minolta lenses which were compatible. The issue was that the onboard chip was far too slow and bleaching was a constant nuisance added to that was the problem with my mobility and lugging all the kit around. Sold the lot for a decent sum and bought the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX60 because by then Sony had upgraded to the Bionz 10. I still use that frequently. I now have acquired an Olympus OM-2n in almost mint condition, the only issue was the light seals which I have replaced, I have also got a mint boxed 50mm Zuiko Auto-S F1.8 and an equally mint Miranda 28-70mm 1:3.8-4.8 MC Macro a Power Bounce Grip 2, cable, connector type 4, T32 flash, filters, zoom adapter and various other bits and pieces. I now want to get a good portrait lens for this camera and would be grateful for your recommendations, thanking you in advance. Zan.
