I saw the geese and a couple of red tail hawks, but no eagles.
I belong to a Colorado photo Facebook group. There was a shot late last week of Monte Vista Wildlife area. it looks like the cranes are arriving in Colorado.
I'm not sure what it is. It grows well along river banks. These were 6-8 feet tall.
After working on it.
This is my second post with the new Monochrome. Still lots of learning to do.

I spent a morning in the Bosque del Apache a couple of weeks ago. Pentax K3iii with Pentax 150-450mm. there were 3 other photographers on the observation deck. My camera was the only one that clicked! LOL.

I bought a slightly used Pentax K-1 several years ago. I had been using the K-3 and really liked it. The K-3 was sold to pick up the new K3Mk3. I use the new one but love the K-1. Yes, it's heavy, built like a tank. But it's wonderful.
Hi Bart, Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! This is an interesting camera since it only records luminance, much like a B&W film. Most(All?) of the software programs are geared for color conversion to B&W which doesn't exactly work with this type of file. I have been using Affinity for a few years now, but I might need to find something else. I have been watching the Pentax forum to see if anyone else has found something. I feel like I need to review the zone system and see if that helps give me some guidance on processing. it is quite the learning curve as I knew it would be.

I have a variable IR filter that I have been playing with once in a while with poor results. Using it will be one of my next experiments. Work and short days keep getting in the way of all this fun. Also, I took the IR filter out of a Lumix
DMC-ZS3 that I had sitting around. Interesting, weird results, unfortunately JPEG only.
I couldn't believe how calm it was that day. I have been there several times and never seen tracks from people on the dunes.
I decided it is time to return to some B&W photography. I never have shot B&W exclusively, but usually enjoyed it when I did. I already own the color Pentax K3Mk3, K1 and many lenses. These are from my first few outings with the new body. Most of these are very slightly adjusted for contrast or exposure.
This is SOOC.
