My Nikon 70-200 f2.8 did the same thing about three weeks ago. I cleaned the contacts on both the lens and camera. After concluding that the lens was trashed, I decided to mount the lens on the camera, turnthe camera an leave it on, overnight. To my surprise, the lens' AFS worked the next morning.
The lens had not been used for over 8 months so thought/hoped/ wished it was an electricial thing. Anyway, it's still working like a charm.
My 2 cents worth.
Good luck
Yes to both. The 24-70 is fine.
My 10 plus year old nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRII has an autofocus problem...it's not working. All of the switches on the camera and lens are set correctly. The lens has worked like a charm until now. Due to a shoulder injury, the lens has been stored in the closet since September 2019 and not connected to a camera or used until yesterday, may 16.
When I pressed the focus button (back button). The VR engages, but no focus.
Any suggestions? Is this worth fixing? How much to repair?
Thanks,
Noel
As an extension of my photography, I have enjoyed producing/printing at home, photo calendars using HP's creations. Unfortunately, HP has decided to pull the plug on the program.
My question is, does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement program? I want to create and print cards, posters, fliers and of course calendars (single and multiple pages) at home.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Noel
Prior to cataract surgery, yes. After surgery, no. I do keep readers close by (hanging on crookies around my neck). Somewhat of a nuisance, but no biggie.
Will the XproN work with the sb910 on a X1R N?
I recently purchased the Godox V860iiN (Nikon). My initial attempts to fire the flash through the PW Mini and flex system failed. Doe/ anyone else have experience with this set up. Specifically, I have the flash on a PW Flex (Nikon) and a PW Mini (Nikon) on my Nikon 810. The flex and Mini communicate with each other until I fire the flash. When I press the shutter, the communication lights on the flex and Mini flash red.
All comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I would have the new Nikon D850 coupled with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR. I like photographing landscapes, action sports (basketball) and portraits. The camera and lens combo will give me the best coverage for all scenarios.
Thanks to all. MTSU is Middle Tennessee State University and UTSA is Univ of Texas at San Antonio.
Recent court action in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (MTSU vs UTSA).
Last night, while shooting a college basketball game, I lost my X-Rite Passport Color checker. I checked on B&H website and they want $98 for the color checker and software. I don't need the software, I already have it. Before I give up and purchase the entire package, does anyone know where a can purchase the color card at a reasonable price?
A quick question concerning LR 6 & LR CC training. I have LR 6 and I'm considering purchasing LR trading materials. The problem is the materials are for LR CC. Are there differences (significant) between 6 and CC which would create problems or are the screen layouts/controls the same for each?
Really, you think you're going to present a position that's going to hangs someone's opinion.
Great shots and really sharp. I have a question concerning your camera and lens. Did you calibrate the Camera AF to this lens or is it "out of the box" settings. I have the same camera and am thinking about purchase a lens calibration device to calibrate my D810 for my Nikon zooms...70-200 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 200-500 f5.6 and 50 f1.8.
Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
