Great shot. I love the milky way. I haven't seen it in person since I was about 10 (60 years ago). It reminds me that I'm not as big as I sometimes think I am. The Milky Way is actually our galaxy seen from the edge looking in toward the center. The Milky Way has an estimated 100 to 400 billion stars. That explains the clouds of stars. Impossible to count. I made this into wallpaper on my desktop. I hope you don't mind. Thank you very much Larry.
I love pictures of the milky way. It makes me feel small and insignificant. It puts all my fantastic plans and ideas in perspective. I wonder how many earth like planets are out there inhabited by their kind of "humans" and their kind of problems. Great shot. Thank you very much. I'm going ot keep the download and look at it often.
I really like the monochrome. In the color those green trees and bushes have no business being there. In the monochrome the trees and bushes seem as old as the barn. Somehow, black and white reminds me of the old days the same as the barn. Good shots.
I like the hair dryer idea too.
The moisture that collects on your cold camera comes from the outside air. You need some way to keep your camera dry and warm in the house. If it is low humidity in the house you might warm the camera to the outside temperature with a heating pad before you go out. If your camera is the same temperature as the outside air you shouldn't get the condensation. OR you could store your camera in an air tight box with a desiccant in the garage.
I love your photos of the birds. Especially the hawk. Beautiful detail and background. He looks like he is eying his next meal.
Thank you everyone for your comments. I can see that I need a longer lens and a flash added to my shopping list. I know a doctor from South Africa who has quality pictures of many birds and wild animals all over his office walls in all the rooms. I asked him how he got such great pictures and he said he has a 1000mm lens. Thanks for encouraging me to buy refurbished. I have ordered my open box 5d mark 3, a 24-70mm and 70-200 L glass lenses with IS. I plan to buy a long lens and flash as well as a high quality polarizing filter as my next purchase. So thanks again for all your help. I explored every suggestion. Mike
Thanks for all the support Anotherview, rmorrison1116, and Trix. All of your comments were very helpful.
Thanks CHG_CANON for your suggestions. I think I will watch KEH for a while. I will also watch Adorama for open box deals. I didn't see any under $2000.
Thanks for your comments. Any idea when the Mark IV is comming? I wouldn't need IS on an EF 400 because I would always mount it on a tripod. The IS will help on my other lenses because sometimes I have a tremor in my rt hand.
Great pictures. I especially like the last one with the orange & green reflected in the lake. You are brave to stand under storm clouds that could produce lightening.
Mike
I am planning to buy a Canon 5d Mark 3, Canon 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM lense, and a Canon 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM lense. I also plan to buy New Leaf drops and spills protection. All this from Adorama.
I am an eclectic amature photographer. I like to take pictures of landscapes, animals (birds, domestic & wild), trains, people & flowers, etc. I already have a good tripod.
I would appreciate any criticism, comments about my choices. I am a little nervous about spending so much money without any input from experienced people.
Thanks in advance, Mike
Does anyone have experience buying from Cameta Camera? Are they a reputable seller?
The pictures are very good. I especially like the color. I don't the music she is playing but it looks like you caught the mood. The rest is in my imagination. What camera and lense did you use?
