That's the first time I've seen a photo of a dragonfly in flight. Great shot and nice and clear. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, HD! I appreciate your comments! They eluded me for a good hour until I captured it!

#1 could not get any better with any lens! It is perfect in every way. Great set, and I love the crazy "hat" on the male.

I appreciate your attention to that detail. The single Grebe shots were closer hence the clarity. I did love the water drops on that first shot, even at the eye. Really appreciate your comments, camernut!

That is a Clarks Grebe.....see where the dark ends above the eye? The western show that line below the eye.

Thank you. I see your right. Too late to change the titles though.

One more note: if you haven't discovered the specialty forums on UHH yet, go to home page, and scroll down to "all sections." Many of those require you to click the subscribe button in order to see in the newest topics link.

Thanks Linda. I just discovered them late last night. I added several, including birds in flight and birds on the water. Decided to stay out of the attic though......{{{{{shudder}}}}}

So much to learn - so little time :)

Post processing, often referred to here as just pp, is anything you do to the digital image after shooting - so yes to Photoshop, Lightroom, and many others.

Someone on UHH recommended Photoshop Elements to me - basically a stripped down version of PS, and I love it.

I also have plug-ins (programs that need a host) such as Nik Collection, and a couple of Topaz products - also recommended by UHH buddies. So lots of ways to improve a shot and/or just play with it.

I started shooting in raw about a year ago - a term I had never even heard before UHH membership.

"Raw vs. jpg" is a contentious topic here :)

I shoot in RAW and JPG now for awhile. I did read some about the other options and elements sounds like a more friendly version of photoshop. thanks for the recommendation. I will investigate the plug ins, thank you.
