I am an amateur in every sense of the word ... I have recently purchased my first DSLR - a Nikon D3300 -
For the past several years I have been shooting with point and shoot digitals - mostly SONY - and prior to that I shot with 35mm Nikon ...
I think my best photography was done with a Minolta SRT 201 many years ago ... Unfortunately it was stolen while I was traveling ...
I am looking forward to learning a lot from the members of this forum, and I thank my friend Steve for bringing me here.

No need, Steve - I've signed up ...
First I want to thank Steve for posting my question, and I also want to thank all of you who responded ...
Actually, I am not certain what my budget is, but I do think the Nikon 16-300mm at about $900+ will probably exceed it.
I am looking for an 'all in one lens' ... I obviously am not a professional - the D3300 being my first DSLR - but I enjoy taking pics and on a recent Mediterranean cruise changing lenses was a pain in the butt ...
My 'plan' is to sell my 35mm camera and accessories and put that towards the purchase of a 16-300mm lens ...
Any suggestions are welcome ...
Thank you,
