I have a Godox 685 for Olympus, and find it straight forward to use. Actually I like much better than my Olympus speedlight. I watched a couple of videos on You Tube that were helpful when I first started using the Godox.

I was sent a message from Jeffy, but UHH blocked a response, so I am posting some general information that is applicable to all.

Mid-May to late June is a good time to see eagles at Seabeck. A small fish, the Midwife comes in toward shore to spawn. At times near the low tide (morning tides are probably the best) the fish get trapped in the shallower water and tide pools making it easy for eagles to feed.
Seabeck is about 75 miles from Sea Tac Airport area. Take I-5 south toward Tacoma and then west and north toward Bremerton. There is another road between Bremerton and Silverdale that takes you to Seabeck. I use the iPhone map program as a guide.

My experience over the last four years is that it is best to arrive about 60-90 minutes before low tide and shoot as the tide recedes. Look for days when the low tides are minus for best conditions. When the tides are -2.5 feet or more, by the time it is low tide, the eagles which tend to feed out near the water line are quite aways out and even an 800 mm lens is a pretty small image. I have seen as many as 20-25 eagles flying or sitting on the beach feeding at a time. Great Blue Herons will also feed and there are some good interactions between the eagles and Herons. A lens in the 400 mm or greater range is very helpful. Weather will vary from clear skies to heavy overcast this time of year. Bring layers as the wind off the water can be chilly and some days it will be shirt sleeve weather.

I will typically stay for awhile after official low tide, but activity tapers off pretty quickly. In the first image you can see the oyster beds on the beach at low tide.

I will attempt to attach some images, but I don't always have success doing so.

A few years ago I was given a Mamiya RB67 Professional with a 90mm lens.

Just recently I loaded a roll of film and have exposed 9 frames so far. I will send it out for development and have the frames scanned so I can work with them in LR or PS. I do not plan to shoot film too often, but it is intriguing to me at this time.

Nice thing is, WE HAVE A CHOICE, and it is not right or wrong, either way.

If she has computer and Internet access, then You Tube is a very good option as well.

I just did a quick test in LR Classic.
I highlighted 3 folders in the Navigator panel, selected grid to show all the individual images, then at the top of the screen I clicked on Metadata. I right clicked and selected "insert" and then selected date as the sort criteria for that column.
At that point the grid properly presented the images in date order. Hopefully, I recapped the steps adequately for you to give it a try.

Chg_Canon added a good list of features to the discussion.

No question too, that there are some extremely good DSLRs that meet many photographers needs and will continue to do so as long as the camera functions and/or can be repaired or replaced with a similar pre-owned model.

Additionally, no one today is forcing folks to discard their DSLRs and purchase mirrorless cameras. For some, mirrorless is an advantage while others will still continue to use their other models very successfully. It is all in the photos produced in the end.

Yes, it is on the equator. My comment's intent was to let the OP know that 12 hours of photography is a lot of time to expect to be in the field.

Tanzania can meet all of your requirements or at least the majority of them. Check out Africa Nature Photography. They led the safari I took in 2019 and it was terrific. Three days in the Ngorongoro Crater and then 8 or o days in different areas of the Serengeti. We saw all of the big 5 plus many other animals and many bird species.

Photo gear should include two bodies, one with a telephoto and one with a wider field of view. Our guides provided sand bags, so tripods and monopods were no needed.

I suspect just about anywhere in Africa would be amazing. Also check he website for Pangolin Photo as they have a wide variety of options.

Adding a few more notes to my post.
My trip was during the last two weeks of April, so new borns were already growing but the young ones are so cool to see. During the two weeks we were seldom near other Toyota Land Cruisers, only a few times where we saw 2-4 other vehicles and only briefly. Ideally, you guides will have three or max four photographers per vehicle so that you can shoot on either side of the vehicle. (I have seen photos of the Wildebeeste crossing the river in August/September and then at the River's edge there are many vehicles...not my interest)

I agree with another post recommending staying in one country. The days go by quickly and taking time out to travel certainly reduces time in the field with the animals.

Don't forget to look for landscape/scenery shots as well. We saw some beautiful sunrises, sunsets and storm cloud formations along with the Acacia Trees that I loved.

You can check out FB for posts from African Nature Photography and also their website.

If no one buys a new camera, there is no resale market for some photographers and eventually there would be no Nikon, Canon, etc. If you are not "taking food off the table or not paying the rent," then opting to buy a new piece of photography equipment is just fine.

On my Tanzania trip I used an Olympus 12-100 (35% of the shots) and a 100-400 (65% of the shots). Double these lens numbers due to crop factor 2x for Olympus. I primarily used used the 12-100 for landscape/scenery images but also some for animals in close to the vehicle. Guides provided bean bags for both window and rooftop areas, but check on this with your guides.
Based on your notes, probably the 18-400 and the 30 sigma would be a good combo.

Okay, I didn't think about a light meter. I have an app on my phone that I will use for the first roll. If I like the results I may invest in a real light meter.

Thanks for the assist.

I like the first image, but would add some exposure to it overall. And I think you could open up the shadows in the lower right corner.
