It's the free version of autostitch - completely automatic, I just selected the jpgs, and hit go. Since these were handheld, they didn't match very close, so I had to crop the result in Faststone. Low res here, but you can boost it.

We went on vacation to Yuma, AZ and drove up to Sequoia Nat'l Park. I took a nifty 50, figuring on just getting snapshots. Even so, stitching six images together gives you an idea of the majesty of these trees. It gives new meaning to the phrase "little woman".

In my opinion, unless you are shooting a distant object (the moon, say), you will probably not notice any ill effect. When I shoot video on my 'pod. the IR makes it rock steady . . . I would say on.

Ah, thought you were asking how to blur the background...
and looking at the background, it appears to me to be out of focus more than blur -

I think you're right, Dave - in another shot, I caught cars going in opposite directions, and it froze them BOTH !

Its territorial hammering, we have them hammering on aluminum chimney caps. The louder the better. It is very smart.

Agree it's smart, but I learned it's more of a mating ritual - a stronger male (pecks louder) will get an more amorous response from females . . . .

Watching the cars (and motorcycles) go by - trying super fast shutter speed, but still trying to get some background blur with panning. Scary Larry is going about 30 MPH here- and you can see the drilled rotors.

Wow - is #1 an Osprey? The bill almost looks like an immature baldy - their eyes change color as well as the beaks as they mature . . .

If you had done PP on the card, instead of copying / moving it to the computer first, will give you that sometimes (But that's usually on a pic-by-pic basis). Check for bent / dirty contact. Otherwise, it may be that one time a card failed . . ..

Rob, I like the retouch that pjarbit did for you, but I would also clone out the stray shadows on the grass that now don't belong to anybody. Great shot anyway!

I'm with nc - this is not an "Audubon" shot, so the question of ethics is muted; it is definitely worth keeping - 'shopped or not.
My once-in-a-lifetime eagle shot had a distracting branch behind its head, and I took it out. I have a feature in my PP program called "Compare to original", and I check it Every Time - and if my "work" is not an improvement, whether it's 5 min or 20, I hit Cancel and start over, or leave it original.
