Are you willing to sell the 24-120 separately. If so, how much? And could you post a picture?

Maybe, If I can sell the body first. I have one person showing some interest in the body, so let me see how that works out.

There is an abandon Air Force Early Warning Radar Station on Winnamucca Mountain. While your up there you can see the Winnamucca River, which according to town lore, is the curliest river in the USA. At least that's what they say in town. Also you must try the Basque Restaurant, it's family style, you and 40 of your newest friends.

You do know that "Grand Central Station" is the Post Office, and "Grand Central Terminal" is the railway station?

And thank you for your civil reply. What you say makes sense to me. I use a D800 and have had better luck with landscapes than with my D200 although the D200 is a good camera. I'm just not as skilled as most. Again thank you for your reply.

My opinion is that f16 is pushing it, risking loss of sharpness due to diffraction on a FF of 24-36 MP. Personally, I limit myself to f11 unless really necessary, but I have no calculations to support that.

Another civil reply, thank you, seams correct tome.

Thank you for your civil answer. Those of us who a learning can be lead astray by those who think they have all the answers. They should provide documented evidence of their claims if they want to be believed. Again, thank you for your reply, makes sense to me.

Good grief! I know very little about what is being discussed and now I know even less, due to so many "I'm the expert opinions". Geez! My money's on "blackest, go Ireland.

Dropped my D800 off my kitchen counter onto my tile floor. I had a 24-120 lens on it at the time. Shattered my 77mm Breakthrough Tech. UV filter. I can find "no" damage to the camera or lens. Does anybody know what material the camera body is made of?

Thank you. I'm still learning and I still get the wrong settings on occasion. This is a good site for advice and most of the people here are willing to help.

I am in week 2 after having shoulder surgery in my left, non dominant, arm ( Rotator cuff ). I understand conditions vary enormously with individual's age, physique, extent of surgery etc and I have a reasonable understanding of the 3-6 months of rehab I will have to restore function.

I also know that many Hogers are around my age, 71, and that some are likely to have had similar surgery. I am interested to hear of experiences of those who have had surgery, particularly wrt ability to handhold a DSLR steady. I shoot Pentax with a variety of lenses generally up to 70mm - middle weight range I guess.

I look forward to any input I get- hopefully to cheer me up a bit as one armed, non driving lifestyle is already a bit tedious! If I am likely to have problems I may consider buying some lighter gear ( Sony a6000 ?) in the Xmas sale.

Thanks in anticipation.
I am in week 2 after having shoulder surgery in my... (show quote)

I had a complete shoulder replacement done on September 6. I'm 70 years old. I use a Nikon D800 with a 70-300 lens. I have no noticeable lose of motion and no problem with lifting. Warning: DO THE THERAPY or you "will" end up with a stiff arm, lose of motion, and pain lifting. Sleeping will be a nightmare however the surgeon should give you something for that. Discuss after surgery pain medication with your doctor "before" surgery. You will probably need something for about 8 to 10 weeks. All in all, it's well worth the surgery. I was miserable before the procedure and now I have no pain and am as good as new. Good luck, I hope all goes well for you. THERAPY!
