yes, i followed the instructions on the link exactly. i still get the error. and yes, i'm in live view and hit the movie button.
that's when i get the error.

i wrote to nikon support and will post here if they give me a solution.

I am trying to fine tune my Nikkor 105mm macro lens on my D500.
i went through all the steps:
live view
af-s s
center focal point
focus at level plane on high contrast subject
press movie button and focus point selection button (not sure of actual name, but it's the one in center of the M / M-A button on bottom left front of camera)

i continue to get the error message: Auto AF fine-tune is not available at current focus settings

i've searched the web and some suggested fixes were to move the focal point off center and retry. or to go to manual focus and retry.
nothing has helped.

any ideas?

My nikon d750 has schmutch (spelling?) on the sensor. i tried to blow it off, didn't help.
i checked into visible dust's website.
they have 3 different options and i'm not sure which one to get. the one i thought i should get only got 2 1/2 stars on their website. the other 2 mentods each got 5 stars.
can anyone give me first hand experience with this product?

I have an external hard drive that stores all my photos. my catalogue is on the IMAC internal HD.
The external Western Digital drive started acting up and I was afraid it may fail, so I copied the entire drive to a new 4T external drive.
Then, I formated the original WD drive and copied the backed up photos from the new drive back to the WD.
seems to be ok now.

BUT, when i went into LR all my folders have a ?. i can right click, find original folder and try to bring it back in, but i'm hoping there's a faster way to do it.
can i try to bring all the folders in at once, or do i need to do each individually?
i tried a few small folders and they went into a new folder. then i tried to drag that into the original folder and it didn't move...
before i get any deeper, i'm hoping someone can give me some advice.

I am currently in the process of doing the exact same thing. i've learned:
a)they make external drives formatted either for PC or MAC.
b)these drives do not work on both machines
c)you need to format the drive in a format that both machines will understand. I use EXFAT.
d)if you purchase western digital, there customer support is terrific. they will walk you through the format process and any other steps you need help with.
e)once you transfer the photos (and any other files), i would strongly suggest using that drive as your storage drive and purchase another drive as your backup. these external drives are not fool proof and can get corrupted. this way you'll have a safe copy of your photos.
f)back up the storage drive to another media (another external drive, the cloud, dropbox, etc).
g) if you're an amazon prime customer, the amazon cloud has UNLIMITED photo storage (included raw and jpg) for free. withouth amazon prime, it costs $12/year for unlimited phpto storage. this is a great deal and helps me sleep well at night

i just bit the bullet and subscribed to LR CC and PS. I have been using LR 5.7 on my IMAC 27" Retina display. there are times the system gets the "dreaded pinwheel" and will hang for 5-15 minutes.
I am also having a problem (I think) with an external HD (which may cause the hangup).
I have an appointment tomorrow at the Apple store to find out what's happening..
My question: I have 8gb-should I upgrade, especially since i'm going to start using PS..

wherever you go, try to get there at (or before) sunrise. the reds/oranges/yellows are incredible and will fill your camera with vibrance. great for wide angle shots...have fun.

thanks. i read somewhere else on this forum found that i needed to go to LR preferences, go to PRESETS and UNCHECK the box that says "store presets with this catalogue". now it works!

can you tell us what you did? i downloaded it to my MAC and LR doesn't see it.

i'm about to pull the plug on LR 5.7 and purchase the monthly LR CC subscription. i see it on amazon for $7.99/month. i have 2 questions: 1) has anyone used the amazon plan? any negative issues with it? 2) what happens if/when you cancel your subscription? are your pictures still available and will they be able to be opened by another program?
