It has happened to me. I use an ND variable filter for practical purposes (and monetary, since it's cheaper until I can afford a better one). The X happens at the most dark stop of the filter. It's not the end of the world, you can use it with a bit of zoom and it will disappear, or rotate a little until it's gone.

Yes, it's annoying, but not impossible if you can't afford a better one.

A lot of clouds stop me from watching the eclipse (watching from Barranquilla, Colombia), but a hole in the clouds let me see it for a few minutes and I could capture this shot. Nothing amazing but still a little of the eclipse.

Then you should have used flash, no PP can give you that look, do it in-camera!

I tried but couldn't manage to use it properly. I did the exposure on the sunset without flash, then with the flash get light on her, but the flash didn't light her enough even in it's max. It's a good flash (neweer Seeelite 560), but I didn't use it properly.

If you goal was to get the girl and the water you could have moved to you right and not included so much of the sunset. Either that or take the shot in the morning just before sunrise.

Hi, I wanted to include the sunset. if I had a flash, do you know if I should expose on the sunset and then shoot with flash until the subjeft is also exposed? Thanks!

Hi Everyone, I took this picture during sunset, around 6pm with my Canon 7D at 50mm 1/250 sec. f/1.8 ISO 100 RAW. I took the picture knowing I had to do some post process, and so I did, but I think the result looks to manipulated. I want a more professional look through editing because in the future I want to try wedding photography and this place is a usual spot, maybe you guys can give me some tips. What do you guys think?

Hello guys. I use a Neewer Speedlite TT560 external flash on my Canon 7D. Sometimes I need to use it as a slave flash and it only works when I turn on my camera built-in flash. My problem is, I don't want my internal flash to also shoot, only the external. I know there is a way to set this up in the built-in menu of the 7D, but I really don't know how to do so (it's something about the internal flash shooting before the shutter or something like that). Would any of you guys know about it?? Thank you, this is my first post!
