Thanks. I have been going through the possibilities with my urologist for a few weeks. But I don't recall him using the term hoLEP. I'll bring it up at the next appointment.

I'm not too critical about these images but the television antennae on 1 and 3 are a bit anachronistic. Also, the wheels on #3 are problematic, not being too well constructed and somewhat out of round on the sidewalk side and about to roll over cobblestones that appear out of nowhere.

I refuse to wear a watch that follows my every movement. And I mean that in the most literal sense. I have to get up every hour or two at night to relieve myself and I don't need to be criticized by a watch (or my insurance company) for not staying asleep longer. The last thing in the world I want is to get up in the morning and wash wet bed sheets. My current mechanical watch does everything I want a watch to do. It tells me what time it is and does so without having to retrieve my phone from my pocket. It has a stop watch function for my stationary bike to time my miles and it tells me the date. Although admittedly, it gets that one wrong unless I reset that function monthly. And the battery never needs to be recharged, only changed about once a year. And while I suppose some might like a watch that talks to their phone for information, I an quite content to speak directly to mine.

Right. I bought my CPO Tucson from a Hyundai dealership.

A friend just bought a used Honda of some kind, and he bought the extended warranty from the dealer. That's something I would never do. So, I have a question - well, two questions.

Have any of you bought a warranty on a used car, and have you tried to use it? I've often heard that the fine print can be a killer.

A word about CPO's. Certified Pre-Owned cars. I recently bought my wife a CPO Hyundai Tucson. It cost more than a similar one of the same vintage. But I think it was worth it because it was of very low mileage, had been (supposedly) been given a lengthy examination by the dealer and had the remainder of the original warranty on it. So for a few hundred dollars difference, I have a car in excellent condition with 35,000 miles left on the bumper to bumper warranty and 75,000 miles left on the drive train warranty. So far I've used it twice, both times for minor issues that would have set me back a few hundred dollars in repairs. It cost me nothing but time.

Regarding this "fine print" . . . there is so much of it going around today that one needs to be a Philadelphia lawyer to understand much of it!

I bought a Volvo 960 back in the early 90's. It was new but the dealer had used it as a loaner and came without a CD changer but was wired for it. The dealer installed it. And my wife, terrified that this car with only five thousand miles on it might fail, insisted that I spend the $2000.00 for an extended warranty out to 100,000 miles. When about four years later, the changer failed, I submitted it to the warranty company for replacement. They denied it, saying that since it wasn't installed at the factory, it wasn't covered. I poured over their terms and limitations and determined that there was nothing in the policy about that. I pressed them on in and threatened legal action. They buckled and replaced the changer. Near as I can tell, overall it cost me about$1400.00 for that changer. By the time the car hit 120,000 miles it began nickel and diming me to the tune of about $1000.00 per repair...none of that was covered. The bottom line? Dealer warranties are way too expensive.

I bought an extended six years ago when I bought a Genesis from a private party. It was fairly inexpensive...from Mercury Insurance and through my credit union. The good news, I've never had to use it because the car has performed flawlessly. The bad news, I spent $600.00 needlessly.

I think it was Anne Jeffries, I thought it was a great humorous show. Also , speaking of William Powell, my favourite movie with him is Life With Father.

You're right, Anne Jeffries. And I found my glasses.

Yes, that was a very good show, but I was referring to a more recent broadcast - a few months ago. It took me a couple of minutes to realize that they were doing a take-off of the Thin Man - same clothing styles, similar names, and same kind of dog. I doubt I'll remember where I saw it.

Well, I can recall things from 70 years ago, but a show from a few months ago, not so much. Heck, I can't even remember what I did with my glasses this morning.

Correct. There was something on TV that was a take-off on the Thin Man - similar names and appearances, even the dog. I wonder how many caught the reference to films that were eighty years old.

You may be thinking of Topper. The original film starred Cary Grant, Constance Bennett and Roland Young (as Cosmo Topper) They were playful ghosts who haunted Topper. (Also, Billie Burke was featured. She was Glinda in The Wizard of Oz.) I don't recall a dog in the movie.

The television show starred Fran Jeffries, Robert Sterling (the ghosts) and Leo G. Carrol as Topper. The dog was Neil, a Saint Bernard. Fun fact, Fran Jeffries and Robert Sterling, were actually husband and wife and if my memory on it is clear, that was the way the announcer credited them in the opening. Leo G. Carrol later played the head of the U.N.C.L.E in the Man From Uncle alongside Robert Vaughn and David Mc Callum..

Correct! Wasn't there a TV series with the same name?

Ah, yes! Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk - with a dog.

As I recall, the dog was named Asta. The show was pretty good for its time. Of course, I was already a fan of the movies.
