Apparently it didn't get quite that dark where I was on the Foothills Parkway between Townsend and Maryville, TN. Here's a short video that shows how quickly it got dark from about 25 seconds before totality. It got light even faster - almost like someone flipped a switch!

Anticipated beauty

I've seen hundreds of awesome photos inside Antelope Canyon, but this is the first time I've seen the entrance. Thanks!

I am thinking that I would like a small camera to complement my Nikon D500 and 80-400 lens. ... Hopefully it could fit in a large coat pocket at minimum.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 appears to meet all of your requirements except probably size - it would need a rather large pocket.

Nice work, Dannie. I love shooting wildlife in Florida.

Nice! I especially like the 1st & 3rd. I'm very rarely up & outside early enough to find things like that.

That strikes as being a very large feeder or a very small raccoon!!

Those feeders are large, and very well built - they have a limited lifetime guarantee. We have one also. They're advertised as squirrel-proof, but they are not raccoon-proof. We got ours at Wild Birds Unlimited.

Nice shot! They're cute, but can be very destructive. Several years ago a raccoon gave birth to her litter inside our chimney! Fortunately we had a glass door in front of the fireplace so they never got inside the house. Somewhere I have some photos of the young-uns in the fireplace.

Excellent photos, Mark. They were made even more enjoyable with the background info you included about each. I never would have imagined a fly could be so interesting before watching that video. Thank you!

Are plying that size is important?😂

Yes - in some cases. Many desktop and some laptop computers have the USB ports recessed so that such a large flash drive won't have room to plug in.

These photos were taken at Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland, Florida. ...

Thanks, gatorgirl51! I'd never heard of Circle B Bar Reserve before. If I ever get to Florida again, I'll see if I can include it in our itinerary. We typically go down one coast to The Everglades, then up the other coast. Now that I have some friends (three of whom are photographers) living in The Villages, I may see more of central Florida.

A Sheriff, you know the kind!, stopped next to my car and asked me what I was doing. I merely said, "I'm just an amateur photographer trying to take some interesting photos".
He replied, "oh okay, didn't think you were a spy or some weirdo with that small camera." Okay as long as you ain't snooping."

Really? Well, my little camera I had was my Sony a6000 with the 55-210 lens. I wonder what he would have said if I had the Nikon with the 55-300mm lens.
I am printing business cards as we speak.
Just another interesting day in Northern Georgia.

I'm also an amateur photographer and have often thought of having business cards made, but never get past the thought of designing one. :-(

Our son, Dayton OH area, came in today for Christmas. He brought me a new camera I'm willing to bet not many Hoggers presently own (see below.) This is the damnest little thing I have seen lately. What it is, is, a 16Gig USB drive made in the form of a DSLR, in this case, Canon. You pop out the lens barrel, and there you have it, a thumb drive. The dimensions are approx 1.75x1.5x1. Am I the luckiest father in the whole USA?

Cute! I've seen them, but don't own one. They won't fit some computers because of the odd size.

Beautiful! I've never been able to get a shot in a natural environment.
