My apologies, Ron, for being so tardy with my reply...you posted while I was in the midst of replying to existing messages and I just flat missed your post.

The recipe is:

1 cup Lard (or Crisco) DO NOT SUBSTITUTE OILS
1 cup chunky peanut butter
2 cups plain corn meal
1 cup plain flour
2 cups quick oatmeal

Melt lard and peanut butter together and add dry ingredients-mix thoroughly.

I put mine in plastic containers such as those that deli meats come in to set up. Depending on usage, containers can be wrapped until ready to use.

I think the results will please you!

Bob

This was taken just after cleaning up the dinner plate. Who else could have eaten our dinner? Must have been the neighbor's cat (Burp!). Just look at him, the image of innocence.

Great job getting the eyes sharp! And I like the tight framing of the face.

...I never promised you a rose garden. Does anybody remember that oldie? It wasn't one of my favorites, but rose gardens are.
All taken under bright but overcast skies, the very best conditions for flower closeups IMO unless you're trying for a different effect. DLs might be clearer. Happy Father's Day to all the dads!

Wonderful images as usual Dixiegirl.

I saw a presentation done at B&H by an old time National Geographic photographer. As I recall he could not do any editing, the picture had to be presented without being "doctored".

Thanks to all who have commented on these pictures. Sometimes it's surprising when pictures come out better than you think. The wagon handle was just an off handed shot to see how well it would focus and I think it was better than some I worked harder on.

In my wife's flower garden. Had not noticed the granddaddy longlegs on the wagon handle until processing the image.

I love these kind of sharp pictures. Good work!

After being with UHH for quite a few posts now I find it common to see members post things quite often about, The Big Brown Truck came today or The White Truck came today, delivering a new camera, lens, camera bag or something regarding cameras. As a large family involved with the world of photography most of us are happy the poster is getting something new. We are genuinely happy for them. That is a good thing. I can't help but wonder why you posted your post. With all due respect to you having a right to share your view point, you pretty much deride the gentleman for posting about the new Nikon D500 he bought and liken him to a 3rd grade student. I can understand you preferring posts giving lots of information useful to the readers, most likely technical information. What I can't understand from you and other posters on different topics is why you feel the need to say anything at all. Your post certainly offers nothing useful to anyone that I can see or relate too. At least the buyer of the D500 is offering us a share of his life, his happiness at purchasing a new camera. He does seem to post photos often enough that he will most likely post photos from the D500 as well. But that is after he receives it.

My good hearted suggestion to continue good will on the UHH forum would be if you see a post you don't agree with or like, then why not just move on to the next one to see if you like that one. Personally I see many photographs, posts, etc. that I either don't like or simply don't interest me in the slightest. I could waste a day just telling each poster why I don't like that photo or why I have no interest in them taking photos of NYC or Dallas or some place in Europe. But what a waste of my time and why spread hurtful feelings to a total stranger.

By the way I just purchased a new Leica M9 with a 28mm lens and a 50mm lens. I love the camera and lenses. Photos are everything I have wanted with sharpness normally attributed to Leica lenses along with vibrant colors. What a great purchase.

I agree completely. I like to see what has made others happy. If a personal friend shares something with me I don't tell him to get lost, I couldn't care less. What kind of decent person would do that?
By the way I very much like the Nikon 200-500mm lens the big brown truck brought a couple of weeks ago!

Yes, but, they still turn backwards from everyone else .....

I agree, why Nikon makes you twist CCW to put a lens on and CW to take it off is goofy. I always have to think about it rather than following the direction normally used by not just other camera brands but just about everything else you can think of! Try removing a jar lid by turning CW!
I know this isn't about the OP's question but what the heck.

The original question: sure Nikon has taken the safe approach. They're trying to save us from making a bad mistake.
