It is a Minolta mount, I have a few lenses with the same mount and they are Minolta for shore.

What kind of Minolta? It defiantly doesn't fit my XE-7.

If there is a notch in one of the mountains tabs it is Konica Minolta.

Really? Interesting. It doesn't fit on my XE-7 or my 300si. Is this a 3rd Minolta mount?

Does anyone know? I looked at a few pictures of different mounts online, but couldn't really tell.

Thanks for all your feedback on this lens, very helpful. I went ahead and purchased one. I'm sorry I didn't find one with the lens hood. Waiting !!

You will definitely want the hood

Sorry, but I completely disagree!... ... though one is not very deep and effective on a lens of this type.

I wish mine worked that well!

I'll take back what I said. But I still think the EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM would be a great way to go. I have the STM in one of my lenses, and I love it!

You must have gotten a rare 'bad' one or you consider it junk because of the barrel creep. The lens may have some quirks but it has decent optics, good image stabilization and fast focus. It's no L lens but it's pretty good for the money.

My reasons I do not like it are:
chromatic aberration, vignetting (on a APS-C!), slow hunting focus, and yes, the barrel creep.
Now ALL of that may be because mine is really old.

But do you have a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens sitting idle to sell or give away?

A give away would be nice.

Do not get the 28-135. I have one and it is Junk! I think you should get the 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 usm ii. BUT if you can spend $600 get this one
