I appreciate the above suggestions and recommendations! They are filled with experience and wisdom.

I would head in a slightly different direction and different question.

I would take the princess to a reputable camera dealer and have her to test drive several of the above suggestions. I would then have her rent several of her pics, accompanied by the wisdom of purveyors for several test drives. Only then, in my opine, will she own her camera and its gifts, instead of borrowing others over-under reach!

The dark building in the background is one of my favorite subjects for abstract architectural studies of light, shadows, and lines. Love your work and your keen eye!! Thanks!

We lived in Houston for a year, downtown. There are some really awesome high rise buildings in downtown as well as mini-parks. The medical centers are another fertile ground for architecture buffs. The area around the Brown Convention Center downtown is a great people shooting place, particularly in the summertime. Great rail and bus service for a quick tour of the fourth largest city in our USA will give you perspective. The river and bayou park areas are eye candy, too.

I really like the suggested new format! It is faster for those of us who can scan articles without having to click on interesting sounding topics that are of no interest in-fact with the printed content. Go for it!!

Great shots of an iconic Dallas Landmark! My guess is getting a whole look may not be possible without some stitching several scenes together. There is another approach you may want to consider. That is shooting some of the detail of this beautiful structure from a different perspective, i.e. very close, different angles, sun shading, tipped camera, shadows, etc. Anyone who lives or drives in this Dallas area already know the building from the perspective of your shots shown here. Given the architectural detail built into the building, it is an invitation to take the opportunity to play with some abstract details present and awaiting your exploiting with light painting! Enjoy!

This reminds me of my favorite Attorney yarn. How many attorneys does it take to shingle a house?

Answer: Depends on how thin you slice em!

OOppps! I meant to say that the Tohono Chul “canal system” should have been an Irrigation System!

I would certainly add Tohono Chul Park, an Arboretum, inside the city limits of Tucson. Of particular focus is the interpretation of the interaction with the cacti and the native population carried out throughout the entire park. Also, there is a geological interpretive garden showing the deep base of fill in the Tucson Valley and the history of the canal system of the ancients.
