Greetings.

I have an award winning print which is a mounted 16X20.

I want to start selling copies but don't have a clue about how to go about doing that. Any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Carter Keith

Several year ago I used Adobe Photoshop Home Addition. I am now on a 64 bit platform and it is not supported. It was easy to create and layer and cut or copy to paste into another picture. The "Magic Wand" or whatever it was called was extremely easy to use and very accurate. The reason is that when you traced the layer you wanted in the picture you only needed to place your cursor close by the objects borer and it would automatically sense the boundaries, analyze the pixels and then outline my selection for easy use.

It now appears that Adobe dropped that and now forces you to hand trace the object which is difficult and tedious and leaves in things that have to be erased later. Other software I have such as Abobe Elements and Corel's package grabs whatever. It is useless.

Does anyone know of a software photo editing package that handles layers like the old Adobe home addition did? I have C2 and no luck there and am thinking about the free Adobe C4 home edition. Thanks for any help. Carter

I could do that except people will, as usual, think my name is backwards. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.

Hello fellow members. I could use some advice on my studio names and corresponding websites.

Currently, I have two “studios”. The first called Once Upon a Gown was created mainly for Bridal Trash the Dress (TTD) shoots and later began including weddings.

The second is Keith Photography which covers weddings, engagement, portraits, head shots, events and maternity. The website is at https.//keithphotography.smugmug.com. At present I don’t have one for the other studio.

Each “studio” has its own website because I did not really want to mix one website under one name with weddings, engagement pictures and portraits included along with TTD, divorce parties, boudoir etc. that are under Once Upon a Gown. But I could possibly do that limiting myself to one studio name and one website. I’m concerned that, for example, someone looking for a wedding photographer also runs into samples of divorce party pictures.

But the problem with the name “Keith Photography” is that a very large numbers of people think Keith is a first name. So with “Keith Photography” it would come off as being a little odd like “Joe Photography”. And Once Upon a Gown Photography I’m told is too long a name although many have said they like it.

I can drop one and consolidate, use each separately with its own specialty, just change Keith Photography’s name or drop them both and develop a new name or names. What would your recommend? I'm also sending this to several sites, forums etc.

Many thanks,

Carter Keith

I am looking for software that I can install on my PC to design and create borders for my photographs. Borders seem to be the "in" thing now.
I use Lightroom 5, which is wonderful but does not create borders. And, I don't want to mess with Photoshop. I can learn Photoshop or take pictures. I don't have time for both.
Can any of you provide me with a recommendation on what to use to create and customize borders, not frames? I've seen and tried several products but ended up uninstalling them.

I would be grateful for any help with this. There must be something out there that's simple and easy to use.

Thank you

OK. Safety is paramount. I take great care when I do these shoots. They are not for everybody but I sure like doing them and the pictures that follow. The creative possibilities seem endless to me.

I think comparing the very very few exceptions to all the thousands of wonderful sessions done with Trash the Dress gives a very false impression and does a great disservice to those who know what they are doing. I've done many dozens of these and all had a great time creating some awesome pictures. I've not had a single mishap and don't know of anyone who does this who has. I don't use fire or have the bride plunge off cliffs. I've included flower girls, too and they loved it all dressed up including dress shoes. My clients always wear complete outfits. Anything else is cheating. They all get soaked and/or muddy and nothing got ruined. So if you don't approve that's your business. This genre won't be any less popular for it.
I'll post more picks so you can see what this usually looks like. But don't be calling people stupid because they want to step out of the box for once. If you want to stay in yours please feel free to do so.

I don't think one incident out of several thousand sessions world wide makes it a bad idea.

Hello all.
I would like to start a discussion thread about this exciting genre of photography. I've done a large number of them in addition to wedding pictures and plan to post examples ranging from mild to extreme. It involves brides, prom queens, flower girls, and more. I would be happy to explain how I go about it to get truly amazing photographs and would like to hear from others from those new to it to those who have done them. Any questions or comments are most welcome.
Thanks,
Carter

Great shot. However looks more like the sun than Luna. Try reducing exposure of lunar disk when processing in, say, Lightroom.

Thanks, I hope to be posting pictures soon in early 2015. These will be "trash the dress" pictures I took involving brides and flower girls.
