Thank you all again for all your information. I am an amateur and it was very confusing trying to understand the difference of the Z24-200mm lens on the Z50 and on the Z6, Z7 and Z9. I just assumed all Z lenses would work the same on all the Nikon Z cameras including the Z50. Tony Northrup said there were really only 2 lenses for the Nikon Z50 and I already have them. After evaluating everything, I have decided to pass on the Z24-200mm lens. It's equivalence of 36-300mm just isn't enough difference from the Z50-250mm lens which I already have.
Thanks again, Lauretta

Thank you all for your information. I did just read Ken Rockwell's article on the lens which was very comprehensive. He does seem to like the lens. However, I was already worried that the 24mm might not be wide enough and now I know that it is really 36mm on the Nikon Z50. However, the kit lens 16-50mm is so small that it is easy to carry around if needed. (I have a Nikon 18-300mm on my D7100 that I really like.) I'll have to think about Z 24-200. Thanks again. You gave me the information that I needed.

Has anyone used this lens? I'm 80 years old and my newest camera is the Nikon z50...trying to keep everything lightweight. I have both kit lenses which comes with this camera, but I really prefer an all-in-one lens. I take photos of family and travel. This looks like a good buy on Nikon's refurbished sale. It was $899.95 and is now $599.95.... but I don't know anything about it. I would appreciate any advice.

I have made over 200 projects with Shutterfly (calendars, books, cards, photos) and always have waited for their sale. Only a couple of times has there been a problem with the printing and they immediately replaced the order. Customer service has always been very helpful. Try this phone number- 888-225-7159 for Shutterfly Customer Service.

Hello
Things to look for in a new computer.
1. CPU-Processor-Speed
2. Storage-Hard Space, I would prefer SSD 1 to 2TB
3. Graphics-Video Card (at least 8megs or more)
4. Memory (Ram)16megs or more(You may get some different opinions)
5. Current OS
Do some research and look for what meets your needs

Al

Al, where in Houston would you buy your laptop computer? I am just starting to look and live in Houston.

I disagree with much of what I am reading here. I always try to be helpful and pass on my experience and whatever information I have. If people ask for my settings not only do I tell them, but I ask them what they are trying to achieve and then try to help them find the way to do it with their equipment. Knowledge is power, and it doesn't cost anything.

Thank you for your response. You are kind. I have always found it very helpful or interesting to know settings used on a photograph to use as a guide.

If you look closely you can see a bridge and stream. This would be a wonderful B&B….or a place for a modern day western movie! What gorgeous scenery. I keep looking at the photos and showing them to my friends. Just unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.

I was waiting for someone to mention the fan belt where all the rotating devices (fan, alternator, etc) weren’t in the same plane and had reliability issues

Thanks for showing this picture as I was trying to explain the fan belt to my husband and wasn’t doing a very good job. I always carried a spare belt with me.

Wow! Brings back memories! I had a white 1960 4 door Corvair.(No air conditioning in Texas😩 ). My Dad was really hesitant to get it for me because of the rear engine. (Any front end collision would have been terrible.) It took me through college with numerous broken fan belts. Was so glad to replace it with a beautiful 1964 Chevy Impala.

D5500 lives in my car, with a 35mm lens and a spare battery. I use it two/three times a week; sometimes I even stop the car. Picture quality is great shooting one handed at traffic stops.
I own about eight different digital cameras; sure a surprise to me that IQ is similar. I guess you mean after people spend their time rebuilding them in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I certainly hope you didn't let all of us flap-jaws scare you off. An original post that generates more than a couple of pages of contention can be considered a smashing success here. I also hope your Z50 is pleasing you more now. BTW, I've been fiddling with my used one since I got it a few months ago and still have some little quirks that bug me to work out, but mostly I'm starting to really like it. I'm pretty happy with my pics right now and I checked to see where I was... under "photo shooting menu" you'll find "picture control". Shuffle those around to see what you like best (I'm using 'Landscape' and like it fine, but tastes vary). Also under the "photo shooting menu" you'll find image quality and image size. Mine is "JPEG fine" and "Large". Once you're comfortable with your output in JPEG, ask about raw vs JPEG... that oughta be good for about fifty or sixty pages of trash talk. Hope you stick around. Have fun!
I certainly hope you didn't let all of us flap-jaw... (show quote)

Thank you so much for your message. I used the suggestions, also updated the firmware and I'm much happier with the photos. I will stick around as I have learned so much and really enjoy UHH. However, I will be very careful about asking questions. If I had only posted the photo from my Z50 and asked how I could improve it, I think the results would have been better. Thanks, again ~Lauretta
