Nice photos and I really agree about the tats. At the risk of being old fashioned (and I am). I don't think I would have bothered doing a shoot with a model with tattoos that couldn't have been covered or avoided. That however, is just my opinion.

Thanks Sherman A1, Someone else mentioned going earlier too, so I am going to try and do that. They did have a night where you could pay to walk around with a professional photographer and use your tripod and get his help with settings but I missed that.

Best of luck, I hope the weather works out for you this week. We had great weather last Thursday evening & it was enjoyable. Be sure to take time and get the story of how all the displays were built from one of the volunteers and don't delay the festival is in it's last few days. Enjoy!

I went to the festival last Thursday evening, we got there about 6pm and had plenty of daylight to capture many of the sights prior to them being lit at 8pm following the acrobat show. I also got some great late day shots around the Japanese Garden and some good reflections on the lake. I used my t2i with a Sigma 18-250mm with a variety of settings and focal lengths. I will note that the crowd makes it difficult to get good photos, so just take a bunch and hope for the best. You will miss some and certainly do not take a tripod or monopod as it would be an obstruction for others and after dark it would be dangerous.

I would love to be half as good as your photos indicate you seem to be. A wonderful series of portraits of an exceptionally attractive young lady.

With regard to the photos from WWII. I would contact the WWII museum in New Orleans. They may be interested in accepting a donation of the photos. I would also contact other members of the family to see who might find the various pics of interest.

Nice photo, I would like to see the original as I am not a fan of HDR myself and I believe the photo would look great without the retouching.

These are fun years. Shoot as many images as she will allow. Include her friends if possible. People lose touch after high school. Years from now she will be happy you took so many pictures.

Completely agree.
