Who remembers BURMA SHAVE (GREAT reminder of the past)?

I'm sure that Burma Shave actually saved some lives. People laughed and then were more careful! It was a REAL "service" to America, even though it was an advertisement and it was one of the RARE "really useful" ones!

A man, a miss,
A car a curve.
He kissed the miss,
And missed the curve. Burma Shave

DON'T STICK YOUR ELBOW
OUT SO FAR
IT MAY GO HOME
IN ANOTHER CAR. Burma Shave

No clue. Either I am too young (<70) or they never had those road signs in California. I remember the Copper Tone, and Enjoy Coca-cola signs.

I watched a YouTube unboxing and demo of a Miniot Wheel 2 Turntable, handmade in Norway (I think). The unusual thing about this is the fact that the stylus is under the turntable, so you play the record upside down. It's a beautiful, simple turntable, and I suspected it would be expensive. The reviewer said it cost £450. To me, that's expensive, especially since I already have a couple of turntables.

Well, I was wrong. Maybe that £450 was just for the stylus because the turntable itself costs between $2,000 - $4,000.

I still use my Technics Direct Drive Turntable and it is 1990s vintage.

I mean radio stations don't use turntable any more

Some radio stations have shows where they spin Vinyl. I guess I may be the only one on the Hog that listens to Radio.

Since my flower selection is limited, I have been experimenting with flowers from my local grocery store. I was pleased when I saw that they had some outside, but like my flowers, the wind kicked up as soon as I started to photograph them! So into the store, I went!

Something a bit different for me. They are FAR from perfect yet, but as always it's part of my learning process!

Nice, but I have the same issue or problem with flowers being too cramped together in a bouquet.

I am trying to explore my options for flowers, so I tried Home Depot. It was a very sunny day with some wind. I went inside, and it was slightly better, but sometimes they were crammed together!

I wasn't satisfied with the last flower post, so I thought I would try again! I went to two other places, so all I can do is keep practicing!

I hope you enjoy this journey and process! Still, see soft focus sometimes!

Being a work in progress isn't always fun!

Feedback is welcomed!

Quite beautiful. Are you shooting them in the store and outdoor flower center?

Did you buy them and bring them home to photograph?

OK. Now, I am finally getting to know some flower places. A friend of mine does demo work there and told me the gal who does the flowers does a good job, and she was right. They have beautiful bouquets, for sure. The only problem was that she was there refreshing the stock, so I had to keep shopping until she left! There was a really gorgeous array of colors to select from. So here's what I picked. It has been an interesting adventure and very different from my squirrels!

Thanks for letting me share, I hope you enjoy!

No thanks! I'm happy with "traditional" turntables. Jerry, yes turntables can be expensive but one < $1,000 can do a good job. Check to see what radio stations use!

Looking at this photo reveals more and more items of interest.
Probably has a lot to do with how we miss things both taking pictures and editing those pictures.

It is not a photograph it is a drawing illustrating an optical illusion. To me it has little to even do with photographic philosophy. Was there supposed to be a linked article? For sure the GENERAL CHIT CHAT Section!

Hello everyone, this is my secod total eclipse. Seven years ago Itravel to Saint Louis Mo., for that eclipse, this time to Indianapolis Indiana, all from Chicago.
The eclipse was espectacular and whete I was, it ladyed 4:12 seconds. I cannot wait for the next and travel to Europe.
These images are in sequence from the begining to the end. In the middle it is the moment that the sun disappeared, the middle at the highest intensity with radiation flares, and then the moment when the sun stared to reappeared. By the way, only on that shot I was able to capture what I think is a comet. You will not be able to see it in your phone.

Great presentation. I heard from a few people that a comet was visible and a couple planets too.

I have never heard of coating damage, always only shutter curtain and/or sensor. Highly unlikely glass elements would be adversely affected. Will be curious to see how the henhouse reacts here.
