And ... like this slinky, they too, get tangled.

Some people are like Slinkys. They're funny when you push them down the stairs.

I'm not sure how many gave their all ... this is from a workshop put on by Mike Moats of "tiny landscapes" ... he had several boxes of "goodies" for us to arrange and photograph. Very worthwhile workshop - I'm glad that I was able to go.

Very nice and interesting photo, tim! How many watches came to the end of their time to enable this shot? Or is it something else?

Fantastic set - very "painterly" ... Lensbaby? Topaz? Both???

Ahh ... the things you don't see from far away :-) ... love the first shot - nice use of DOF.

Thanks for the kind words. I was worried about the setting, and settings... Dark hotel conference room required going outside of where I would have liked to be, but the Nikon d750 came through like a champ.

ISO 1000
ss 1/25
f 5.6
lens = 105 mm Nikkor macro

[Recent Visitor Activityquote=DOOK]Excellent, Tim. Resolution is superb, even on double download. [/quote]

Thanks, yes I was trying for dramatic lighting.
In fact I want to try again and move the lights back to get just a rim on each side. I'm still blown away that you can get the background to darken out that much. The gym was fully lit and the other players were holding regular practice... And this was not even at high speed sync, which I might try too ....
Except that there might then be some motion blur due to the longer flash duration.

A great shot. I disagree with cyclespeed as I like the contrast between her left and right sides.

Working on my lighting. Two Rovelight 600s, one in a 22" beauty dish camera right, and one in a 36x48" softbox camera left. Also two speedlights, one behind each side angled towards the middle of the player's back. ISO 100, 1/250s f11 AFAIKR.
