McDonald Lake in Glacier Park, MT

I'll be there July 5-8. Looking forward to getting some good shots. Not looking forward to carrying all my gear around. I'm taking my 70D, Canon 10-18mm, Tamron 18-270 & 150-600. Still figuring out if I can fit my manfrotto Befree tripod. I don't think I'll have too many opportunities to use the flash so I can probably leave that at home.

OK first of all my lens is fine. It seems that my buddy played a joke on me. He removed the lens box from the shipping container, retaped it and proceeded to beat it with a pipe. Then he jumped on it and sent me a picture. He knows how picky I am (I put towels on the floor mats in my cars) and thought it was funny. Well played but I don't get mad, I don't get even, I get ahead.

It came via UPS and I think the office next door signed for it. I'm trying to find out if they put down that the shipping container was damaged.

My lens arrived today but the box was smashed. I'm not in that office today where I had it shipped so I'll have to inspect it tomorrow. Thanks UPS!

New Lens for Alaska cruse

I just ordered the tamron from abt.com on Tuesday and they're shipping it today. $1,069 free shipping, same as B&H where I have had one on order since July 4th.

So I placed my order for the lens with ABT on Tuesday 9/9 and cancelled my order at B&H. ABT called me yesterday to verify that I wanted it shipped to a different address than my billing address and they said it should be delivered in the 2-4 week timeframe. Well today (9/11 - never forget) I received an email that it is shipping today. Wow!
