I should clarify that out of the thousands of digital photos less than half will be saved to dvd and then even fewer printed and placed into four good old fashioned photo albums.
If I use a photo print site, which one gives best sorting service and print cost.

As usual, I only posted part of my dilemma. Old age, senility, .... I am using a windows 10 laptop. The Microsoft program lets me easily create albums and place selected photos on them. But, cannot download to dvd. Got Adobe elements and it is not user friendly (at least for me).

I am trying to sort thousands of digital photos from various devices (phone, laptop, etc.) into albums and then burn album to dvd. Will then send to flikr or similar service for printing. Trying to help wife making albums for kids. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful and detailed replies. I will probably keep the kit 70-300 lens since sale value is pretty low. However, I am going to purchase an additional VR lens, just have to figure out how to hoodwink Wife.

Bought Nikon d3500 kit pkg which included 18-55 mm vr lens which seems very good and a 70-300 non vr lens. I think the 18-55 will suffice for family gatherings but the 70-300 non vr is questionable for grandkids spirts, travelling, etc. I am not an avid wildlife photographer. At 73 yo I am trying to keep things simple and light. Am an amateur at best. Any suggestions appreciated.

Before the defect showed up the camera was very good for a rank amateur like me. Zoom was fantastic and picture clarity very good. Very disappointed when system died and decided not to buy another.

Thank you for the information. How do you like the d3500? I have just started playing around with it and it seems to take decent photos even with my 5 thumbs!! Have you seen any books specifically addressing the d3500? I have been trolling YouTube and online libraries which have been very helpful.

Even more to think about. Someone asked if all photos are digital. My immediate concern is with all my digital photos but I have the familiar shoeboxes if old ones I would like to digitize. That may be a separate topic. Again, I truly appreciate all the knowledge and experience everyone has so kindly shared with me.

Am purchasing a Nikon D3500 and need a basic photo editing and organizing program. I have thousands of pictures I need to organize and lightly edit/enhance. My procrastination has finally caught up with me. To say I am a beginner is giving me way too much credit.

The dsc hx400v cameras have a history of image stabilzation issues with error code E62.10 showing up. Repair cost around $200 plus an associated board for $100. I know - just scrapped one.

Thanks for reply. For some reason I have not been receiving my UHH daily news letter. Some got caught in spam folder.
