thank you all,.. the chart above really help me, i always focus at the far right edge of my subject, i shoot pillows, in light color cases and they always are soft and fuzzy at the edge, so i go for smaller aperature ,and focus to offset the lack of detail in my pillow, and since the bench was white i was wanting to make sure the edges were clear
i am going to try your suggestions,
i haven't intentionally ever shot back focus, how do i know, and change it....i am trying the shot at different apertures.
that's as wide as i could get,
i thought i had included the image, here it is, it's not sharp every where
i have attached the raw file, appreciate your feedback
i am shooting nikon D5200, used a 50mm 1:8 and 1:4, i can't get a sharp image, F16 160ss studio strobes
i am not sure if it's the lens or the camera, or combo, it's works well most of the time but for this transfer bench,it
's not
so if i decide it's the camera, any not too expensive, still use nikon either as is lens or adapters , i can't afford to start from scratch, but i'm feeling like i'm not advancing this way
any suggestions are always appreciated..
thank you all
can you give me the info of the facebook page about studio lights/flash
i have only been using strobes for about 4 months, so i don't know why i get a good shot , and then the next shot comes out 60 % black, any thoughts and suggestions appreciated
i recently received some strobe lights, never used them prior. only used continuous lights. Everything i read or video i have watched says setting the shutter speed to 125 or 250 and leaving it there is the way to go. adjusting the aperature is all that is needed
in doing that , my pictures are all blown out, to further confuse me, if i lower the shutter speed to 1/80, i may get an image at f9, but if i change it again to 1/60, the image is blown out. What am i missing
thanks, that's what i needed to know
if your were buying a new body, would you go D5500 or D5600
i am wondering if the kit lens that came with my D3100 has improved enough that it would make a difference if i use it on a new D5500
what about using Olympus OM-D-E M10 in low light, low contrast studio settings, i have read a review that it doesn't perform well in low light. Have you found this to be the case
sorry
i am using a nikon D3100 on tripod, with a 50mm fixed 1/4 lens
i will try back focus, since i can't get the auto focus to focus... i've shot open and closed f stops , i am using 2 back lights, 2 front lights and one overhead, they usually work very well for me on most of my shoots.
it's a product shoot, i want a sharp image to use in catalogs and on our website, i do want the texture to show,
it's the most frustrating thing , and i'm blank, i've done all i can think of,
