Used tripod, photos were shot from indoors through a window (no breeze) and used remote shutter release. So, although it is not impossible, all images displayed the same uniform distortion. If they'd been vibration artifacts I would expect variation in how pronounced the effect would have been.

Since most of my photography is live insects the subjects are seldom completely cooperative so I expect to do some post processing. At least some cropping, so the image will be there, and I might as well do a bit of tweaking. Consequently I might as well shoot in Raw.

I bought one of those inexpensive clip on lens kits for my cell phone. They work okay, but at extreme magnifications the telephoto (claimed 20X) is blurry, and displays some serious chromatic problems. Red fringe on one side and blue fringe on the other side of objects next to a bright background. My question is, anyone have a suggestion for a good lens for this application?

As a retired electronics technician I decided a while back I didn't really want to spend a lot of time fiddling with hardware. The Mac has been dependable, and produces a quality image. I grew up with windows, but dislike the business model/architecture of Win 10. It is a set of tradeoffs. Early on, the Mac gave me tons of trouble until they finally replaced the mother board in warranty. Since then it's been perfect aside from the tendency of hiding my files. I decided I wanted to concentrate on my photos, not hardware so I bought really expensive cameras! :-)

I run an iMac bought primarily because of the impressive display. Memory is upgradeable. There is a little door on the back. Runs Photoshop elements, Capture one, Ligftroom, GIMP, Helicon focus, without a hitch. Helicon focus can compile 200, 37 megabyte shots into one in focused image in about 5 minutes.

system.

Suggestion; before replacing try a "factory reset" and then restore any programs you use. I recently faced the same issue. If you buy a new computer you're going to have to reinstall all that stuff anyway. Google "factory reset" for instructions. It's easy, takes a couple of hours to complete, and worked wonders for my old systen.

Well, it ain't my Sony A7rII and Sony 90 mm macro, but not too bad for a clip on lens and a cell camera. Experimenting with cell phone and clip on macro lens. Rathvone's Scarab captured 06/14/2021, Carlotta, California, USA, Considered a bumblebee mimic, as adults they frequent flowers. Captured on wild mustard flowers. Post processing with Photoshop Elements for contrast and brightness to show detail better. (Lightened shadows on right side) No sharpening or further enhancements.

I recently bought one of those little kits with a handfull of clip on lenses for the camera in my cell phone. I mainly got them to play with and do a little macro experimentation. along with the macro, kaleidoscope, polarizer, cross screen filter, along with all that I bought the super telephoto lens. It's not all that great at extreme mags. It seems to have a bunch of chromatic distortion giving a reddish fringe on one side of bright objects and a blue on on the other side. Resolution is not all that great either despite using the tripod and remote exposure remote that came with the kit. I have gotten better resolution from other 12 mega pixel cameras. This is the best of a dozen shots of my neighbor's weather station on the top of his house. Probably 300 yards away against a forest. So, my question is, who makes a really good telephoto lens for cell phones?

Olympus TG-6 tough is my goto camera every day it's in my pocket. I chose red so I can find it easily. It is as durable as possible telephoto up to 4 X. Macro, panoramic capabilities (can be useful inside a large building like a church..) Can download wirelessly to phone. Good battery life. Takes good photos.

I'm the business manager at a church. We're looking at purchasing
a point and shoot camera for use by our office manager / communications
person for capturing church events and publishing photos in our weekend
bulletin and website. Using it for video is not being considered (she uses
a smart phone for any live-streaming).

I myself use a Nikon D5600 and haven't used a point and shoot in quarter
century. We're looking for a fairly easy to use camera for the office manager
and hoping to keep the price in the $6-700 neighborhood. Not wedded to Nikon.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have spent a lifetime working with advanced technology and medical imaging. I still struggle to get "just the right effect". I do a lot of macro nature (aka bugs) and every shot is an adventure. I understand the trade offs between aperture, time, iso, magnification, depth of field etc, and I loose a few shots from time to time trying to set up my camera while my subject flits away. If it was easy I don't think I would do it.
