I am wanting to upgrade to some modern battery powered, off camera strobe lights. I was sort of settled on Elinchrom ELB500TTL two light kit. However, I looked at the Wescott FJ400 two light full kit and am thinking that it might be a good value at a much lower cost.
I looked at Godox and I am concerned about the lack of US repair/service support. Profoto is out of my price range at almost 5K with a trigger.
I am not a professional photographer, so the equipment will not be subject to daily use. I like it to be portable and compatible with my Cameras. My main cameras are Sony A99ii, A77ii and A99. I have other older Sony Alphas which don’t get much use…
I would welcome any advise the community has to help me decide.
Thanks,
Mike
Check out Promedia Gear equipment. I swear by their stuff. It is an investment however. Also USA made.
Have you considered a gimbal mount?
If cost is not an issue, look at Mindshift Gear. Best pack I ever owned.
Stick your head back in the sand you pompas ass
"you bring to the act of photography, all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, and the people you have loved". Ansel Adams
And apparently all the nasty ignorant and miserable treatment of people writing on this form that you can spew.
Well everyone has their opinion. We better stop walking the sidelines with our monopods on our shoulders holding our cameras up. That socket is only for support you know. Nobody EVER does that. I am going to go out and have a cigarette in my 6.0 Ford Diesel pickup while hiding from the foil hat wearing trolls. Outta this...
Wow. Coincidence. I bought a lottery ticket and won. I bought Black Rapid and closed the Company so no more Cameras would be dropped. Now I am afraid to go outside. I may be struck by lightning.
Not a quick connector it is a steel threaded lock carabiner.
Blah blah I wouldn't... Nonsense.
I have been using Black Rapid straps since introduced. Shoot sporting events w/long glass. Been pulled, hooked, rained on, run, jump, tripped fall, plowed into. Best strap out there. Haven't lost a camera yet. Get one. You will not be sorry. No I don't work for them. If someone has had the 1/4-20 receiver pulled out of their camera body I would love to see the pictures. Must have been dragged in two directions by elephants.😄
I have used the Katz eye foucus screens. They work fine...
