I assume your picture is in Portrait. Now think about it... If you start with a (2:3 aspect ratio) or 4X6 picture, and you double the size, you get 8x12. When you try to print it on 8 X 10 paper most Drugstore printers will chop off the top and bottom of the picture to fit. You can ask them to print it on 8x12 paper, they'll do it but you'll have a tough time finding an inexpensive frame to fit that format. To avoid this you should compose your picture with equal extra space on the top and bottom so when it gets "cropped" at the Drugstore it will fit properly.

Alternatively you can "try to manually crop" and save the picture in Adobe to a (4:5 aspect ratio) 8x10 format but you'll have the same problem as the Drugstore if you don't have enough "Cropable" space on the top or bottom. Or in this case side to side.

Humm, If you think the photo's are too large you can download Picasa 3 for free (safe from Google) and edit the photo size. How? Import the photo to Picasa. Once your done editing a photo you can Select the Export feature (on the bottom of the page) and change the pixel density to something smaller. Once done you can export the photo to a folder on your hard drive. Try sending the photo from there
