Aww, a calico! Had a few around the farm when I was a kid. Great mousers, and very affectionate.

My job was to find the nest after a mom calico had her kittens. Then find it again when she moved it after the first discovery.

Thanks everybody, makes me feel very welcome.

Eysonly, Winneconne! Worked there for 17 years at the old J.I. Case plant, fished there many times. Is the town going to secede from the state again this summer? (( Local joke folks, it seems Winneconne was left off the official state map back about 40(?) years ago, so they seceded from the state. It's become an annual town party every year since then)).

One of these days I'm going to actually figure out how to use all the features of my Cannon T-2. I really need a basic photo course to re-learn what I used to know about how to set a lens.

I once had a Kodak Instamatic camera that I bought at the base BX. It had a built in light meter, and a good German lens that you could set for F-stops and shutter speed. I knew how to run it, AND it took great pictures. The limiting factor was the film only came in those darn plastic cartridges, kodacolor, ectachrome or vericrome pan B&W.

I need to know how to set a lens to achieve wide depth of field or other special effects. Then which button to push in manual mode to get there.

Born & raised in central Wi, life long picture taker. Dad was an amateur photographer, he even did his own developing and enlarging,(B&W). He bought me a Kodak brownie camera, it must have been 1955 or so. The format was. IIRC verichrome pan 127? He set me loose to take pics of anything I wanted to. With the understanding that it cost money for film and processing.

A lot of fun was had, and some decent pictures as well. Dad would critique the pics, and suggest how to better compose, frame, and fit a picture into the available space.

Fast forward to present, about 4 years ago I bought my dream camera. A Cannon EOS Rebel T2i. With the kit lens, EFS 18-55, it takes great pictures. I since bought a Cannon EF 50mm F/ 2.5-macro lens for it. The freedom of digital photography is amazing. I started with a Olympus digital point & shoot, but it was so limited.

My old Yashica FX-D sits with some very old film in it and a dead battery. It took some great pics as well.

Looking forward to some good discussions on this website.
