I still use my Nikon d3100 every day. I keep it as a second body but it gets the most use.

If you plan on going pro it would probably be best to go with Nikon or Canon. I've had Canon cropped sensor cameras and switched to Nikon cropped sensor cameras, can't remember why or whether one was any better than the other. I wish when I switched I would have considered something in the 4/3 format like maybe an Olympus, just because its less weight to carry around. Personally I like the 4x3 ratio better than the 3x2 for viewing, but thats just me.

I have an HP all in one printer. The ink is very expensive, and the few times I've used it to print photos the results were very poor.

I have had a few DSLRs in the apsc format and I liked them. I have a Canon EOS-M which is a very poorly rated mirrorless camera. The biggest problem with the mirrorless is slow focus, biggest advantage is smaller size. I think there are many better DSLRs and mirrorless cameras than what I have. For me the future will be mirrorless. I imagine that in the '30s photographers with 35mm were looked down upon, but the format eventually became the most popular. Technology moves much faster than our ability to adapt to it.

I've been using elements 11 and the only complaint I've had is that its a bit slow. I told myself that if I could find PSE 14 for $40 I would buy it. Got it on Amazon for that price with a prime membership (30 day free trial). I'm happy that I upgraded, also its compatible with my RAW images from my nikon d5300, which 11 wasn't. 64bits runs faster.

I bought my first cellphone for use in emergencies or extremely important situations. Perhaps at 65 I'm old fashioned, but my smartphone is turned off most of the time. I turn it on a few times a day and check messages or to make a call, then turn it off again. If someone needs to reach me they can leave a message.

16G is plenty, although RAM update is cheap often it isn't needed. At least until bigger, faster, more hungry programs are released.

I'm pretty happy with the X7 ultimate, so I'll probably wait for X9.

I got the message that its ready to install. I was all set to put it on one of my laptops, but then decided to wait a while to see if there are any issues that need to be ironed out first. I know its been in beta for quite a while and all seems to be fine, but I'll still wait. Win 7 is fine for me.

I have psp x7 ultimate. It loads both 32bit and 64bit versions into computer. I find that many plugins work with the 32bit version only.

Does PSE do everything you need? Try the PS cc for a month or more and decide if you really need the extra features. I have pse 11, LR5.7 and Paintshop pro X7. I don't think I would ever use all the stuff in the full PS. If anyone asked me which is better PSE or PSP I wouldn't be able to answer but the PSP does work with my d5300 RAW files.

I bought an S-100 refurb, just because I saw it at a great price. I think its a fantastic camera and easy to carry. I put in a small belt pouch and don't even feel it there. I believe in the s-110 they went to an F1.8 from the f2.0, and the s120 has wifi.

I've been dabbling with photography for about 50 years, and as one post mentioned I learned more with an old manual film camera than anything else. I took a photography 101 class at the local college a few years ago using a Canon T2i with kit lens, at the time Nikon made the d3100. The Canon was fine for the class as I'm sure the Nikon would have been. I think the main thing is to get a camera that can be expanded or upgraded, and to have all the modes (Auto, A,S,M) available to learn.

I'm currently enrolled in one by Shaw Academy. I wouldn't recommend it unless you know absolutely nothing about photography. Upon completion they want to sell you a diploma.
