Just about to give the Spowersoft a go. you don't have to do anything with the hardware - all you have to do is clear the password. Create the following disk, boot off it, & follow the instructions:

It worked for me on a Windows 7 home basic install at least, and the website has a Win8/Vista/XP LiveCD.

BTW, your machine does not have ODD, it will work with Flash drive too.
