I really like it Hendy! I love trees no matter, but the fog makes it feel mysterious!
Thank you Sue. I agree----fog does give that mysterious, mystical feeling. Great photographing weather.

While working security at a mall in Upstate NY that had several ponds on the property, we would frequently "escort" a family across the road as they traipsed between ponds. Good capture. ;-)
Good story. Those families do like to stay in a group. :)

Nice shot. What kind of post processing did you do.
Thanks. Actually when I first brought this image up in Lightroom 5.2, I thought it might be a throw-away. I shot this at f2.8, and there was way more reflected light than I expected. Basically, the sky and water were bright white, and trees were very dark with no detail. But I started playing with the basic adjustments in Lightroom, and thankfully I was able to salvage it (glad I shoot RAW).
Here's what I ended up doing in post processing:
. Converted it to b&w,
. Cranked the Exposure down 2 stops
. Maxed out the Contrast
. Minimized Highlights and Whites
. Minimized the Blacks
. Moved the Shadow slider about 1/3 of the way up
. Maxed out Clarity
Bringing all the black (shadow) areas into view introduced some noise, so I set the Luminance Noise Reduction to 60 which smoothed things out nicely.
Then as a final adjustment I added a slight vignette which caused the trees to be backlighted which was the look I was trying to get.
Regards,
Steve
