Cool! Where did you find that?! Blue, too, just like mine!

I love my 2009 standard transmission Fit! It has abt 130,00 or so miles. I will keep it running as long as possible. On the Highway, going not too fast, I have gotten close to 40 MPG. Sorry to see they are going away…

For Milky Way shots, a reasonable wide angle fast lens should work just fine. Try a higher ISO, and use exposures no longer (in general) than about 30 sec. You can use a star tracker for longer exposures, but then the horizon shows motion. Just use a good tripod and a remote shutter. Some of those really good pictures you see use a lot of post processing.
So here is what you do—- take your camera outside wherever you may be even now (unless you are in the middle of a city) and shoot away! Different exposures. Different lenses, and so fourth. “Film” is cheap! And it lets you get familiar with your camera under those conditions. You probably won’t get anything worth saving, but good for learning. Some people shine flashlights at whatever trees or hills or whatever in the foreground. Experiment! Because done wrong, you can ruin an otherwise good shot.

Others will no doubt have better advice, but for me, exposures of one or two seconds, or less. Just experiment to see what settings to use. One of my shots was ISO 1600, F-5.6, and .6 of a second, so it depends on the effect you want. Digital photography is great because you can take a shot, look at it, and make whatever adjustments and shoot again. Plenty of fireworks and plenty of time to get it right!

As someone else suggested, there may be some screen brightness settings that can be changed.
But that was one reason I hated some of those old point and shoot cameras… you didn’t have a view finder, just that screen, and it was really hard to see in the sunlight to even compose a picture.
Best of luck! Try that screen brightness setting.

I've seen that many times. Let me just say this; I never let them in.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Doing that just adds to the congestion. I see it all the time as well, but just shake my head and go on about my life…

I think you will need a MUCH longer focal length to see any details at all on Mars. It is a small planet. 600mm will just get you a brighter spot..... Planetary photography is a specialty in it's own right, and requires somewhat specialized equipment and software to process the images.
I've never tried Mars, but do have some pretty reasonable shots of Jupiter, but I was using a 1200 mm 5" telescope, and a somewhat specialized camera taking videos, then stacked and processed the hundreds of images into a single picture.
But you gotta start somewhere! Good luck!

You can still send them to Walmart or Costco or somewhere and get the best ones printed out, so you can still show them to your friends. Then where to store all those prints.......

I get the same message using my Tamron 150-600 zoom. Same on all my cameras. I will be reading and looking to see what the solution is. I was almost going to ask exactly the same question here.

Cool! I live in San Bernardino, and went out to look, but couldn't see anything. To far away and to bright, I guess.
Good shot!

This topic comes up from time to time. Here is my take on it: A cell phone camera is essentially a point and shoot camera, with some limited telephoto or wide angle options, and some very limited exposure options. That is plenty good enough for most people.
But I have a couple of DSLRs, as well as a Canon M-50 mirrorless. With them, I can remove the lens and attach it to my telescope. I can use truly long telephoto lenses, or super wide angle lenses. I can take time exposures for as long a time as I choose. I can hook up external triggers for such things as lightning photos, or star trail photos. I have total control of my exposure times, ISO, F-ratios, and the ability to totally mess up an exposure all by myself! My M50 also takes wonderful time lapse cloud videos. Somewhat limited, but better than anything else I have.
So my take is, we should not be critical of either type of camera, or of those who use them. They both have their place. My phone camera is always with me, but my specialty cameras could not be replaced by a simple phone camera. What about bird pictures? Airplane pictures.... I use both cameras a lot, and love them all!
