PC caught my eye because I have been using NIK forever and now it's going away. I have Topaz and OnOne but have relied on NIK for so long that I will really have to learn these other plug ins and I've become quite lazy. Love that one click edit that I can tweak. Especially NIK's detail extractor. I'll really miss that. But certainly don't need to buy anymore plug ins. Thanks Steamboat.

Thanks Jerry! I didn't see anywhere that it was for only 30 days and that's exactly what I wanted to know and avoid. I have a Mac with PSCC.

I received an email from Perfectly Clear, as I'm sure many of you have also, and would like to download it, but want to be sure it's safe and worth it. Any suggestions?

Ahhh, thank you all very much! Now I understand why I couldn't see the price(s). There is no more webinar discounts either, so I guess she will have to pay the full price. But the complete suite is the best way to buy. I love it all. I always appreciate the help this forum offers and thanks for not bashing me. lol I read this forum all the time but don't often have questions. Many times my questions are already addressed here. You guys are fabulous!

Yes, I did see these things, but the complete collection does not seem to be available. It seems that you have to buy each one individually. And they don't make it easy to even see the prices. NIK used to be very friendly, but it seems that Google is really making a mess.

I already own the NIK complete collection, but my friend wants to purchase the collection and we can't find where to buy it on their web site. It also seems that they no longer offer the webinars. They seem to only have youtube videos now. Does anyone know what's going on?

They are now in production. Prices start at $2999. This may drive down prices of the old Mac Pros.

I can't thank you all enough for this info. I want to switch from a PC to a Mac (finally) and struggle with the choices. This is exactly what I need to know. The next step will be the Raid system. I'll closely follow your advise on that topic too. You guys are outstanding!

I tried using a different base that I know works and the drive would still not spin up. Is that what you mean?
I apologize up front for having no tech knowledge.
Thanks for so many quick replies! Wow!

The drive is totally dead. So how would I get access to the files?

I have been a follower of this wonderful site for quite a while now and have learned so much. But now I find myself with a problem and would appreciate your advise.

My Seagate 4TB external drive failed during a backup to CrashPlan. So the recovered files include only the .xmp from LR4 and about 188 images, leaving about 4500 images lost. Seagate will charge $400. to recover the drive. I only need the 4500 images and feel very unhappy to have to pay that much. Any advise on how to recover these images? I have formatted all the cards, but only one has been overwritten. Seagate offers a DYI plan to try to recover them myself with a 45 page manual and then $99. fee for the key to unlock the images. The problem there is that the card that was overwritten has my only pics of Victoria Falls that I really want to recover. So, besides being very upset, I'm also confused and would appreciate suggestions and advise. Does anyone know a less expensive, easier way of recovering these images?

Thanks in advance,
Karen Celella from LI, NY
