I made a trip like that a number of tears ago. Since I am a single malt drinker, we visited quite a few single malt distilleries, especially on Isly and at Oban, Soom great photo opportunities.
a 24mm-85mm lens is more than enough.

I would use it as a carry when travelling. Mainly close-ups of faces, certainly not for distant shots, but mainly as the star of the film used it. Close-ups while talking to people, close-ups for foods, market places, cute kids etc.

I thought it might be. I was interested in buying that camera but certainly not at that price. Can you suggest any other at that size but at a more reasonable price.?

Yes it will. The D600 & D610 have compensation programs for DX lenses. I have a D600 and have had no problems with my DX lenses.

The best way to clean contacts is to swab them (Absorbant Cotton) a solution of Backing Soda, then dry the contacts out when clean.

I had a similar problem on a D-90.
I brought the camera to Kurtz Camera here in San Diego and was told that there is a small motor to activate the shutter and the mirror that has stopped functioning.
They are repairing it for $285. I will let you know about the success or failure of the repair in a few weeks.

I have been to India with them. There was nothing spectacular but they were fine. If you want to use them you won't go wrong.

Remember there always has to be a difference between buy and sell. KEH or anybody else is not a trading company. The difference in price is what is called "PROFIT.
That is how they stay in business.
The private buyer is going to sell the product and so can afford to pay a higher price.

You are downloading your self with a lot of lenses. (heavy and clumzy) I would take a telephoto zoom, a midrange zoom and a wide angle in the 18-18 MM. range.
In addition a polarizing filter might be most useful.
God luck, I did a similar trip a few years ago which turned out to be most pleasurable

If you can you should try to go to Volubius. I was there in the early 70's.
You can imagine yourself walking down the main street of a Roman town.
If you can get there before sunrise or stay until sunset you'll get some fabulous images.

I had that problem on a D600. After having tried everything I removed the two memory chips and reformatted the cmaera. The problem disapeared.
I don't know why but I was in France at the beginning of my trip and was happy that it disapeared.

I just returned from France with my D600 and 28-300mm. lense. The temperature in Paris was 107 degrees F.
The equipment was to heavy to lug around. Keep your equipment weight down. Carry as little as posible and look out for pick-pockets and muggers.
MC.
