Yep, it works on MF. Thanks. And thanks for the heads up using 50mm. Do you think a future investment in a much faster 50mm would be beneficial?

Hello all. As stated earlier I am again picking up the camera, this time late in life. I live in Montana and am inquiring as to which lens would be a good size for photographing this magnificent Big Sky and it's many interesting clouds. I have a Sony 18-55 and 24-105 and a used Tamron 70-300 (just received today) which I have no idea whatsoever how to use. Hooked it up to front of camera, turned on the camera, pushed the shutter release button and the lens just went in and out without firing.

Hello. As I had stated in my intro, I am just getting back into camera things. I did pick up a Sony A230, with 2-Sony Lens; 3.5-5.6/18-55 and 3.5-4.5/24-105 for a decent price at local pawn shop. Opinions on these two items would be appreciated. Also have a Tamron 4.0-5.6/70-300 on the way to me. Any opinions on this lens? After seeing if I still have the camera bug will try to invest in some better lenses but for now, I hope to be happy. What do you think?

And thanks for all the welcomes in response to my intro.

AuntieM. If you are talking about Montana. There is a great place called Marysville, that is easily accessible about 20-miles from Helena, MT, the State Capital. And about 30 miles East of MIssoula is a "restored" Ghost Town called Garnet, in close relation to Coloma and Beartown. By restored I mean they have a foundation trying to keep the place from falling into the abyss. Do a Google on Marysville and Garnet and check it out. Many RV opportunities in both Helena and Missoula.

Greetings all. Years ago, as a private investigator, I used a SLR Canon EOS. Sold it after I retired. Was getting tired of the point and shoots I had used. Went to local pawn shop and got a good deal on a Sony A230 with 24-105 and a 18-55, both Sony lenses. Just ordered a Tamron 70-300 and will be ready to go out Ghost Towning this spring, summer and fall. I will need to relearn lots of stuff. Will take a class at local camera store to refresh basics. Guess I think it's gonna be great to download and delete pics that just don't do it. That is instead of paying to develop a couple of rolls of 24 shots each. Will be seeking assistance and asking questions as I go along this new camera tour.
