I remember watching Gorky Park about fur trade in Russia. Good movie. Don't remember if it was ermines or minks. Glad these little guys aren't being hunted or raised for fur anymore.
thanks for warning. They've found a hole into our garage - we'd better watch for nasty stashes.
from stories I've heard they are pretty vicious. this one came up to within 6" of my foot and I wasn't sure if it would sniff or attack. One neighbor came upon one with a squirrel in its mouth. It held its ground and growled until neighbor left. Another friend hates them because they killed all her bunnies. Cute, quick, nothing to mess with. They have brown fur in summer (weasels) then become white ermine in winter (I've been told.)
you got me. Not picking one up to look tho.
These little guys have been playing tag around the yard and on the deck. They "mark" their territory and my poor dog is wearing her nose out following the scent.
beautiful - thanks for sharing. It is starting to get dark enough here in Alaska to pull out a flashlight.
thank you so much. I have LR5 but haven't learned to change backgrounds yet but I will try again with a different angle.(get rid of hot tub - in photo only It was, and is breezy so a bit challenging to keep in focus.
Appreciate the advice.
love these poppies - interested in how anyone might improve the photos.
This is a most popular day hike in Anchorage. Done it a few times but it's not a leisurely stroll. Nice photos.
great photo - it's wonderful to appreciate the often unnoticed beauty in nature.
great shots and what a great idea. You have a nice variety of birds visiting you.
it's about time a woman is making near what a man might. I say "go girl"
