I was there last year, and it is a beautiful place. Don't take a tour as it has only limited stops (I don't know how many). The dirt road through the Valley is quite passable for cars, but watch for sharp rocks (very few of those). The road is wide enough so that you can pull off almost anywhere. I spent a whole morning in the Valley. Enjoy it!

I live 70 miles south of Charlottesville. They haven't started changing here. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just west of Charlottesville, and the leaves there are spectacular. But they will change at different times due to the elevation differences and changes in latitude. Mid-October is usually when the leaves start to change, so they seem to be late this year. If you go to the Parkway, you'll be overlooking the Shenandoah Valley, which is west of the Parkway. Have a great trip. The Virginia mountains are beautiful this time of year.

So B & H follows wheir religious laws. I bet they also follow "Thou shall not steal" and "Do unto others ...". Who would you rather deal with? Someone who follows these beliefs and is therefore trustworthy, or someone who does not?

While on the Parkway between the two parks, most of the time you'll be shooting west as this overlooks the Shenandoah Valley. Hopefully you'll be there after a good rain as this will wash the pollution out of the air. Near sundown, there are deer grazing alongside the road, and they are not afaid of cars or people.
