You made my day! I love birds & hope to be able to get some good shots soon. Going for cataract surgery Thursday. The birds are absolutely beautiful!

JR1, were you weaned on a pickle? Had to ask. I'll bet you have a huge heart & don't want anyone to know it! You couldn't possibly be as cross as you sound.

ps I am a descendent of one of the Scots ousted from England. Being a baser sort of course. No country really wanted us (I don't blame them). My Dad's kin were horse thieves fleeing prosecution. True story. :D

Hey guys I am 86. I have a Nikon d300 but am lusting for a d800e. I have a pretty grotty left knee, wonky heart though it seems to be keeping good shape under the 8 pills I take. If I kick the bucket soon all that cash in the sink. Any thoughts on what I should do ?

By all means, get the camera! It will only enhance your health. The only thing about a bucket that should concern you is where you're going for your next excursion. Wish I were there to shop with you!

Been there, done that! Don't be tempted. Especially if they don't have an address! Go with one of the reputable dealers, even if you pay extra.

Who cares, (in a nice way) I wonder why so many people are so pre occupied with sweet spots, pixels etc, get out and take photographs

It's what is behind the camera that counts

That's what I've decided to do. In spite of cataracts & Parkinson's. Some of my "rare" good shots are absolutely accidental!

Welcome! I love photography as a hobby. I have yet to get a photo that I would dare share, but I still love it!

Hello. Finally took the time to read the instructions. Maybe that's why I get so many bad shots!
I am trying to learn digital photography & stop relying on point & shoot mode. I have Nikon D5000 & Nikon 200. Picking photography up after many years away.

I can only get better (hopefully). Losing brain cells every day so I must hurry!
