I have not studied DNG to the extent some of you have, but I have been shooting in DVG on my Pentax since it first came out and have not had any problems.

You may want to look at Costco. The selection is not huge, but the prices are good. You get a two year warranty. Their concierge service is quite good and if they cannot correct the problem, they will connect you directly to the Mfgs top tier service level. The killer point is that if you do not like the computer for any reason you can return it within 90 days. You also get two years of warranty w/no extra charge.

For those interested in the big picture, I recommend, WHO GAVE THE PINTA TO THE SANTA MARIA: TORRID DISEASED IN A TEMPERATE WORLD, by Robert Desowitz.

Love it. Kentucky Hills evokes fond memories of the Red River Gorge, Jenny Wiley state park, Berea, Pikeville and other places nearby.

I'm not Mac literate, but yes LR should recognize the file format.

I had a stroke a few years back. 45M brain cells kaput, but I have no permanent damage otherwise. The previous post about going to a certified stroke center is right on. From official MD rendered diagnosis to dissolving the clot took about 10 minutes and most of that was used to pump saline solution into me to minimize kidney damage from the clot buster. When the plunger on the injection hit bottom, my symptoms went away. I had occupational therapy to retrain my left hand so that I could wright.

One other tip. Call 911. The time "wasted" waiting for the ambulance, will be recovered in the hospital. There will be no waiting. People will be waiting to hold the door open when the ambulance gets to the hospital. The treatment team will be waiting. There will be no registration or check in delays.

Perhaps gibberish would have been a better choice. Regardless, it works. Our old method was hopeless. We let each person choose his or her own password. I was given three tries to log in to each computer (all 20). I was successful on 15 computers.

Try editing in LR with its RAW editor. I think all might show up better with Clarity and Vibrence. The last picture is the real challenge. I would try reducing the highlights to tone down the backlighting from the sun and then play with the shadows slider pushing it to the right to bring out what I could of the person. Just play with the sliders until the picture looks its best.

The RAW editor is extremely useful.

Pass words are a necessary pain. I have a large collection of church hymnals. My passwords are keyed to hymn titles and hymn numbers. If passwords are really critical, you have to go more creative. I worked with computers in my career. I had a secret clearance for the US Army for many years. This was upgraded to Top Secret for 14 years. Rule #1 never write down your password anywhere. We had a security program which assigned passwords. It would give you a string of pronouncable garbage. We never had problems with those passwords.

What is the file format of the pictures: JPEG, RAW, etc? What kind of post processing do you do? Both answers will have a significant impact on what you can do for your pictures.

I have a new Pentax. K3ii. I do not have enough data on it to tell, but I leave it on unless I'm changing batteries or memory cards. On my previous Pentax, I followed the same practice. I have three batteries for it. Two are over four years old and still hold a full charge for weeks if not used heavily.

Thanks, guys. The great egret, white bird/black legs, was F8 and be there. It happened too fast for any artful composition. Its cropped severely from a c sensor/400mm zoom fully extended. The female was backlit.
