It used to be called Sunken Gardens
The Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel gives you a nice view of the skyline. Get there so you can be at the top for sunset.
Great shots! I've seen them before and now I know what they are called, appreciate the info.
Use a tripod/monopod, a remote shutter release if you can, an be ready. A .5-1.0 second exposure should do ok, depending on the number of balloons. They typically light up for just a few seconds at a time so you may need to pick a spot and be patient so you can get multiple balloons glowing at the same time. Have fun, wish I could be there!
Nice to see the small operators are still doing business. I miss the old Boston & Maine
I believe it has always been Sedona. Sedona was the wife of TC Schnebly an early settler in the area. He started a post office in his house and when trying to come up with a suitable name (Schnebly Station, then Red Rock Crossing and even Oak Creek Station)found that all of his choices were too long for the cancellation stamp so the government wouldn't approve the name. Someone suggested he use his wifes name and since she was a fine upstanding citizen and the name would fit on the cancellation stamp the name was approved and since 1902 the town has been called Sedona.
I was there in the late 1970's. Doesn't look like its changed much.
Great shots, you did a nice job with the composition!
I also like #2. You might try cropping it to fit the rule of thirds.
Nice Photo! The butterfly on the left could be a Great Spangled Fritillary.
