I tried to use the Recuva site, but couldn't figure out how to use it for a camera card. I tried downloading it and there is now nothing at all on the card. All of the 500+ pictures are in the unrecognized file format! I guess I have lost them. Fortunately, I have made copies of most of them, all but the most recent ones.
It was suggested to me to save all the pictures on CDs & not reuse the camera card, save them too & just buy new ones because they are now so cheap.

I wanted to use Shutterfly to save some pictures. Previously I had used Shutterfly which automatically transferred pictures from my Kodak Gallery (no longer supported by Kodak) & made a photo book. I was trying to figure out how to add pictures to Shutterfly & I interpreted it as saying I had to download with the Kodak Easy Share software & then transfer them to Shutterfly. I did have the camera plugged into the computer with the camera card in it. I think I was afraid of erasing pictures because one time when I downloaded pictures the Kodak Gallery said they were already there & did I want to deleat them. I said yes thinking I did not need duplicate pictures, but it erased them from the camera card.

I did take the card to a photography store (Rowe's) & they said I may have corrupted the card if I took it out of the computer before it said I could do it safely. Who knew? They said it would cost about $90 to try to recover the pictures & it might not work.
I asked, if I put the card back into the camera & deleated all of the "unrecognized file format" pictures, would I then be able to get to the most recent pictures that I have not copies yet. I
really did not get an answer & have not done anything about it as yet.
Perhaps I should try the memory card recovery software from the maker of the card as you have so kindly suggsted.

I have a Kodak Z14585 IS camera with a full card. In reviewing pictures to put on a CD I got to #193 & there was no picture, only grey background that said UNRECOGNIZED FILE FORMAT. When I backed up the review from the most recent picture I went back to 373 before I got the same response. I tried to download it at Sam's Club with help from the photo experts & it would not download past #13 so I was unable to make a CD or even print. I am most interested in the most recent pictures as I have already put most of the old ones on CD's. It says there are 517 pictures on a 8GB SDHC Toshiba memory card.
They think I somehow deleated more than an occasional bad shot. I got a new memory card & new battery & the camera seems to be working ok. Now to figure out how to get my pictures off the old memory card.
